This slave master asked Daenerys for the biggest dragon. It didn't matter. She was always going to bring the biggest one for him anyway.

Hi! I'm a big fan of the show and I recently got gifted all the ASOIAF books except the first one GOT, I've watched season 1 of the show twice, would I be able to start from book 2 without being too confused? I've heard the first seasons stick pretty closely to the books.

I seen there's a 30 hour audiobook on YouTube but I really dread audiobooks as I find it's alot harder to keep focused and visualise scenes when I'm not actually reading it myself, so it'd really be my last resort.

Would I be okay jumping straight into book 2 or even watching a 1 hour summary of the first book?

Thanks!

Let's rate all GoT fighters using the chess Elo system.

Hi all, there are quite a few posts around here debating who would win in a fight, which is quite fun. So having some sort of a list to see where the community thinks each character is approximately at, would be interesting.

I've made a tool that uses Elo rating system (used in Chess, CS:GO, Dota, etc.) and head to head comparisons to rate things. And I think it could be fun.

I believe I've added all important characters, but if I missed any, let me know and I'll add them (the elo system can handle new entries without screwing up the rankings).

Here's the link to vote: https://elorank.net/lists/best-fighters-in-game-of-thrones-tv-series

And here's the link for the results: https://elorank.net/lists/best-fighters-in-game-of-thrones-tv-series/rankings

(Currently, there are nowhere near enough votes for results to be of any relevance though.)

I've also previously posted a similar thing to r/asoiaf with all the book characters if anyone is interested:

On my second watch...

And I know it's a universal opinion but I will seriously NEVER forgive whoever is responsible for season 8. I am just so angry about Dany's whole persona being thrown in the toilet. Such a disgrace. And so much unnecessary death!! Why why why 😭

Do yall think we would’ve gotten a better finale if the books were actually completed before the shows time

People always talk about the beginning of the downfall of the show being in like late S7 but I’m gonna be honest I noticed the quality start to dip in s5 and most of s6 is pretty mid in comparison to s1-4. Coincidentally that’s right when they catch up to the books.

The thing is, there are some scenes in the show that are not in the book that are brilliant. The beetle scene? Original. Tywin skinning the stag? Original. They are good at creating new and interesting things… but s5 is when I think they started to make the characters dumb and make bad decisions and screw themeselves because… conflict? Idek. What yall think

Do you think GoT would make a great season of the “What if” series?

I have 100 of thoughts and ideas that what if this happened and this did not in game of thrones…do you think GoT would be succesful in its own version of What If?
