This is actually what’s going on. You don’t have anything you can’t defend. When the system takes away your ability to defend your rights (with guns) then the tyranny will be much less gradual, and far less subtle.

Gun rights don’t completely prevent tyranny — just as firefighters don’t prevent all fires — but the ruling class knows it’s much more dangerous to tyrannize an armed population, because they risk getting shot at in the process — that is the critical difference!

I think this is the future of warfare. It won’t just be flying drones, but swarms of AI drones and also drone-tanks. This will allow tanks to become much smaller and more agile, because these tanks won’t have to accommodate a tank crew.
