I still sense that people on Telegram really believe that we have lost the First Amendment (freedom of speech) in the United States because of Trump‘s new executive order against so called anti-semitism. Yes it sucks, but it doesn’t have any effect on Americans whatsoever.

This confusion is stems from a gigantic misunderstanding: the First Amendment only applies to American citizens, it doesn’t protect non-citizens. There’s obviously good reasons for this: foreign agents trying to spread propaganda shouldn’t be given First Amendment protection.

As it stands, I can still go out in public with a shirt that says the “Holocaust was a lie” and not face any charges or jail time — and certainly not a conviction with a prison sentence. We still have the First Amendment in full.

I’m not saying any of this to flex over non-American, but it’s necessary to clear any misunderstandings regarding the First Amendment and how it works.

It’s one thing for a politician to be underhanded, sociopathic and sleazy, most all of them are, but to be so open about it, it’s just shockingly repugnant. Trump is just like “they didn’t give us the resources, so fuck ’em.” At this point, I think Duke Nukem (a fiction character from an old PC game series) would be a better president, seriously. I’m not even joking. At least that would be amusing and cool.
