Good morning
I wanted to break character for a moment as admin because Im getting kinda bothered by the amount of real rage happening over Helldivers 2. I know were a small channel but I still want to say it.
I understand being mad at the devs but to be frank, getting mad at players is kind of absurd. There should have been straggler players factored into the illuminate event, and the fact that the community is fracturing over which enemy people prefer to fight is also absurd imo. The amount of vitrol getting thrown around is just going to make people less likely to play the game at all when this is over.
I have to confess that Im kinda fake. I love the HD2 lore, but ive never had enough money to actually buy the game. This experience has made me far less likely to buy the game, because even if the illuminate are defeated the toxicity this has bred will remain and fester until the next big event.
I stopped playing tf2 for similar reasons, and most of my other friends have moved on from HD2 to Warframe. Its extremely sad to me that there is a high potential for a game that unified so many people to end in infighting and real, non digital friendships getting damaged.
I remember when the point of a videogame was to have fun in an alternate reality and or scratch that certain numbers go up or puzzle itch.
If super earth is lost we should mourn a great game saddled with bad devs together, instead of pointing fingers and turning on each other. We should find clousure on that shared experience as a community.
I guess the worst irony of all is that history repeats itself even virtually, with the empire waging the forever war eventually turning its vitrol inward, and creating warring factions in itself.
Stay Diving out there
