🔺 Blockchain Progress
Our focus has been on Substrate updates, particularly merging v0.9.42. Additionally, we're gearing up to integrate BLS12-381, slated for version 117. Keep an eye out for version 116 distribution on the mainnet in the coming days. For more detailed insights, explore the Humanode GitHub.

🔺 Employing ZombieNet for E2E Network Testing
ZombieNet remains our go-to framework for testing Substrate-based blockchains. We've continued to leverage ZombieNet, especially for testing multiple nodes. Prioritizing testing the genesis with over 1k validators, we're also eyeing 5k validators in the near future.

🔺 Exploring Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) Protocols Attestation
We've made an abstraction that describes the general principle of transport authentication. Next, we'll create abstractions for client, native code, and web code. Our ultimate goal is to open-source this entire stack.

🔺 BotBasher Enhancements
We've been actively enhancing BotBasher, with a new component—token sustainer—now in staging. Additionally, rigorous testing of the revocation component during server reboot is underway.

🔺 Preparations for Biometric Update
We're gearing up for the regular update of Facetec, our primary biometric provider, with an updated code in progress. Simultaneously, we're in the process of selecting additional liveness detection providers to decentralize our biometric architecture.

🔺 Mainnet Website Updates and Localization
Updates, including events and validator stats, have been rolled out on the mainnet website. We're also making significant strides in localizing the website, with translation efforts in progress across multiple languages.

Hello, human nodes! This biweekly report provides an overview of the main news, development updates, and recent events within the Humanode ecosystem. Let’s start!

First, human nodes have surged from 483 to 700+ in less than a month, underscoring the growing interest and participation in the network. This brings the network closer to the milestone of 1000 human nodes, a testament to the robustness and attractiveness of the Humanode ecosystem.

Moreover, Humanode’s collaboration with Impossible Finance marks a significant step towards network sustainability. The decision to allocate 60% of swap fees from Impossible Finance to the Humanode network not only enhances the platform’s financial sustainability but also provides a lucrative incentive for validators. The first buy-back will happen this week.

Behind the scenes, the Humanode team is tirelessly working on various development fronts. The focus has been on Substrate updates, particularly merging v0.9.42. Additionally, the team is gearing up to integrate BLS12–381, slated for version 117. Keep an eye out for version 116 distribution on the mainnet in the coming days. Furthermore, the team continued to leverage ZombieNet, especially for testing multiple nodes. Also, the team has made a few updates to the guide on launching and running a node on the Humanode network. The latest version includes the latest updated information, new screenshots, and an FAQ section addressing the most common queries. You can access the updated guide here.

Humanode’s strategic partnerships and community engagement initiatives play a pivotal role in driving ecosystem growth and awareness. The integration of Humanode Network with SubWallet, a comprehensive wallet solution for the Polkadot, Substrate, and Ethereum ecosystems, expands accessibility and usability for users across multiple platforms.

Furthermore, the listing of HMND on MEXC exchange enhances liquidity and trading opportunities for the Humanode community. MEXC became the 9th exchange to list HMND.

In addition to technological advancements, Humanode is actively contributing to thought leadership in the blockchain space through insightful publications. The comparative analysis of Layer-1 blockchain economies, authored by Humanode co-founder Victor, offers valuable insights into validator rewards and economic incentives across different networks. Similarly, the exploration of biometrics as a solution to the digital media crisis underscores Humanode’s commitment to leveraging technology for societal benefit.

The introduction of the Humanode-inspired dystopian novel series, “2067 — The Equilibrium,” provides a creative narrative that highlights the importance of preventing undesirable futures through innovation and collective action.

To all the biostakers and human nodes as well as BotBasher users we advise to prepare for this transition.

The reset allows Humanode to wipe biometric data clean that ups the security and allows us to update the cryptobioemtric infra as it is ran on Confidential Virtual Machines (CVM).

The transitional period will be taken into consideration during the next fee distribution.

🔺 Blockchain Progress
Our dev team has been actively advancing Humanode's blockchain infrastructure, with a focus on Substrate updates. We're pleased to announce the merging of v0.9.42. Moreover, we are gearing up for the integration of BLS12-381, a step slated for version 117. For a more detailed overview of the progress, we invite you to explore Humanode GitHub.

🔺E2E Network Testing
In our quest for robust network testing capabilities, we're planning to develop a proprietary tool similar to ZombieNet. While ZombieNet served as our initial inspiration, we encountered limitations, especially when scaling to a large number of nodes. We aim to test the genesis with over 1K validators, with plans to scale up to 5K validators in the near future.

🔺 BotBasher Enhancements
We are delighted to announce significant enhancements to BotBasher. With the introduction of a new feature—token sustainer— now in production.

🔺 Preparations for Biometric Update
We are preparing for a routine update of Facetec, our primary biometric provider.

🔺Contacting New Biometric Providers
Concurrently, we are evaluating additional liveness detection providers to further decentralize our biometric architecture and fortify the platform's security measures. Last week, we had a promising call with one such provider.

🔺 Mainnet Website Localization
As part of our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, we are making substantial progress in localizing the Humanode website.

🔺Research and Development
Our team continues to explore avenues for enhancing user experience and platform functionality. We are delving into React updates, web components for design systems, and WebAssembly. Additionally, discussions have centered around upgrading the dependency of Humanode crypto wallets that users can connect to SubWallet, which, as it turns out, cannot work with cascade networks.

Dear human nodes ,

The biometric servers have been updated, and have been rebooted.

Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.

Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys but you must re-enroll.

One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

Biomapper servers update and reset

Dear human nodes,

The biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker have been updated, and rebooted.

Please Biomap to make sure you can claim your rewards.

Keep in mind, this update doesn't effect your stakes in anyway, however, you must Biomap to be able to claim your rewards

One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

Dear Verified humans,

As previously announced, BotBasher has been updated to Gen4 and the server has been reset. Gen3 roles are deprecated and can no longer be obtained.

For everything to work smoothly, the server administrator of your Discord will need to create a new role based on the Gen4 BotBasher.

Some servers may not update immediately. For those on the Humanode Discord server, you can go ahead and become a verified Human again. As a note, this one verification process will be good for all Gen4 Discord Servers, and you will just need to tie your freshly verified account to the new role on all Gen4 servers.

Please note that this time we are running an experimental role revocation system. We expect everything to be fine, but you may observe unusual behaviour within the next 48 hours.

To do next:

➡️ Server admins - prepare new roles (or tweak and update current roles). Check this article out to see how to do it:

➡️ Users/Everyone else - claim your new roles! (i.e. Go to linked roles, select your role (in the case of Humanode, Verified Human)). It is important to remember that you can only tie your biometrics to ONE Discord account. If you tie it to a wrong account, well, you will have to wait 6 months for the next reset.

🔺 Facetec & Biomapper Updates
Last week, we conducted comprehensive updates across various components of our primary biometric provider, Facetec. This encompassed enhancements to the server, web, test utilities, robonode, web app, mainnet, Botbasher, and Biomapper. Notably, the Biomapper now enables unstaking tokens and rewards claims without biomapping.

🔺 Blockchain Progress
Our dev team continues to push forward with Humanode's blockchain infrastructure. We successfully merging v0.9.42 of Substrate, signaling significant progress. Support of BLS12-381 and BN128 has been merged and included into 118 runtime spec version. Will be available on it6 and testnet5 this week. We're venturing into the realm of Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) attestation with an experimental example, a chat server. This specialized CVM will conduct attestation to clients, allowing authorized clients to exchange messages if the CVM is verified. This experimental code represents a significant step in our research and development efforts.

🔺 Research on Remote Attestation From Web Browsers
In addition to our CVM attestation endeavors, we're exploring support for remote attestation from web browsers. Recent progress includes the addition of a Cross WebTransport driver named xwt a.k.a. xwebtransport, a WebTransport interface for browsers and native that supports closing connections.

Hello, human nodes! Welcome to our biweekly report, where we cover the latest news, development updates, and recent events from the Humanode project. Let’s dive in!

Last week, the team conducted comprehensive updates to Humanode’s primary biometric provider, Facetec.

The biometric servers were updated and rebooted. Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch. No key rotation is necessary, but re-enrollment is required.

The biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker have also been updated. To claim your rewards, please Biomap. This update does not affect your stakes, but Biomapping is necessary to claim rewards.

On top of that, BotBasher has been updated to Gen4, and the server has been reset. Gen3 roles are now deprecated. Server administrators need to create new roles based on Gen4 BotBasher. Users on the Humanode Discord server can re-verify to obtain new roles. This one-time verification will be valid across all Gen4 Discord servers. Remember, biometrics can only be tied to one Discord account. Mistakes in account linking will require a six-month wait for the next reset.

Significant progress continues on Humanode’s blockchain infrastructure. The team is merging v0.9.42 of Substrate and has included support for BLS12–381 and BN128 into the 118 runtime spec version.
