Humanode TestNet V2 'Shamshel' is Live
Humanode is releasing “Shamshel (TestNet V2)”, the closed Beta version of the first major upgrade to the Humanode TestNet software today.
The 1st major upgrade will greatly improve the UI/UX and allow users to install the TestNet application without having to touch the terminal window.
As in “Sachiel (Testnet V1)”, Shamshel participants will be able to become human nodes through a biometric enrollment process, validate blocks, send transactions, and participate in FaceTec's $100,000 anti-spoofing bounty program.
Current TestNet V1 users will be transferred to Shamshel, and a number of current applicants will also be invited to join Shamshel for the closed testing session.
Humanode is scheduling the full public release of Shamshel, with further updated UI and UX on December 22nd, fully opening the doors to all who want to join the Humanode TestNet, and immortalize their existence as one of the first batches of human nodes in History.

Biweekly update on @Humanode vol.12
TL;DR
Greetings, crypto community! It’s time for our detailed recap of all things Humanode! The last two weeks were part of a wild ride full of hard work — so let’s have a short overview of the thrilling news that has appeared lately.
A few days ago, Humanode released ‘Shamshel (TestNet V2)’, the closed Beta version of the first major upgrade to the Humanode TestNet software. The 1st major upgrade will greatly improve the UI/UX and allow users to install the TestNet application without having to touch the terminal window. As in ‘Sachiel (Testnet V1)’, Shamshel participants will be able to become human nodes through a biometric enrollment process, validate blocks, send transactions, and participate in FaceTec’s $100,000 anti-spoofing bounty program. Current TestNet V1 users will be transferred to Shamshel, and a number of current applicants will also be invited to join Shamshel for the closed testing session. The Humanode team is scheduling the full public release of Shamshel, with further updated UI and UX on December 22nd, fully opening the doors to all who want to join the Humanode TestNet, and immortalize their existence as one of the first batches of human nodes in history. So stay in the loop!
Currently, the Humanode teams are operating extremely hard on the major tasks.
As for the network development, they implemented signature verification for enroll endpoint, improved opaque bytearray wrappers, and started the implementation of EVM compatibility.
The team continues their work on the desktop application. These weeks, they fixed WSL detection code for multi-locale support, updated development manifests, remote engine if MD5 does not match, and Electron logic. Also, they added a browser icon, auto-scroll to bottom on mount, “ask a question” Discord link, as well as made humanode-peer manifest configurable.
Considering crypto-biometric search and matching and liveness algorithms, the bioauth team updated evaluation code with ACER method, fixed bug & refactored evaluation code, and modified FASNetC architecture & added trained weight.
The Humanode media team continues a series of interviews with Humanode core team members. These weeks, they interviewed Max, project manager at Humanode, and Edward, Humanode’s content specialist. They discussed their background, hobbies and interests, dreams and aspirations, and what gets them excited about the Humanode project. Read the interviews in the Humanode blog!
Other than that, the Humanode Fireside talk took place in their telegram voice chat. The team discussed biometric data markets. Listen to the recording on the Humanode Podcast, and join the team on Wednesday for the next conversation!
Humanode’s latest blog post discusses pseudonymous biometric identity for DAOs. DAOs can use Humanode to create a first-of-its-kind universal Sybil defence that can drastically alter standard practices when interacting with one another in a permissionless environment. More details in the blog!
That’s all for today! See you on-chain!

Hey, human nodes!
We are glad to announce that we received 10,866 applications for participation in Humanode testnet V2 ‘Shamshel’. Only a week after the release, ‘Shamshel’ has 296 nodes running!
Last night we shipped v 1.1.0 of the desktop app and web-app response improvements. Those who are already enrolled - no need to download a new app. Please, save your mnemonic in case you want to move to 1.1.0. You will need to delete your workspace and remove the first version. Use the same link in the letter to access the download page. Check out our step-by-step guide!
Latest updates:
🔺 A more user-friendly error message will now let users know when the bioauth process fails due to a connection issue to the humanode peer.
🔺 We now show an error when you are trying to scan the QR code with a mobile web browser that doesn't support service workers.
🔺 The bug report link now works, and will point you to the support channel at discord.
🔺Errors during the authorization flow in the logs are now more user-friendly.
For those who haven’t received an invitation yet, keep in mind that they are being sent regularly in randomly generated batches, so stay in the loop and remember to check your email!
On top of that, we are scheduling the full public release of ‘Shamshel’, with further updated UI and UX before the New Year, fully opening the doors to all who want to join the testnet.
Thank you for your interest and involvement!

We just reached 400 nodes on TestNet V2. 40 minutes ago we updated the biometric servers. Fixed both the web app and the desktop app error messaging. Human nodes, this time you do not have to change anything. Troubleshooting guide may change a bit, those who are setting up - keep sending your log messages if you face any issues. Make sure you do everything step by step as in the guide: https://desktop-app-docs.humanode.io/
