A Duchenne smile is the one that reaches your eyes, making the corners wrinkle up with crow’s feet. It’s the smile most of us recognize as the most authentic expression of happiness.

A Pan Am smile is a fake, polite smile, named after the now-defunct Pan American World Airways flight attendants who were trained to smile at every passenger regardless of the circumstances. This smile only involves the voluntary contraction of the muscles around the mouth (the zygomatic major muscle) and does not engage the eyes, which distinguishes it from a genuine, heartfelt Duchenne smile.

I believe that life is cyclical, that most problems have already surfaced or have been solved at some point, which makes Ray Dalio's Principles so effective.

In so, civilizations are also pretty much cyclical. Ray Dalio's 'Changing World Order' reflects that and now chancing upon Oswald Spengler's culture theory, it makes sense too.
