Some Chinese women are vowing to "lead the way in abstinence" rather than have more children, as Beijing removes tax exception for contraception.

- heavy gender imbalance
- scarcity of women, leading to higher expectations of a partner (没房没车不要谈 min requirements is owning a house a car)
- rising cost of living
- people aren’t feeling safe enough to have kids
- more career focused women, refusal to be housewives or settle down
- increasingly digital hence lonely world
- increase in incel culture
feels inevitable because i doubt slapping baby incentives will help either
taxing condoms might increase birth rates slightly, but there’ll be more unwanted babies and abortions too
was it inevitable from the start in pursuit of economical growth?

Capital As Power
Is capitalism suicidal? (A note on population aging) – Capital As Power
I think there's a a growing interest or concern about population aging. Indeed, this is a phenomenon that humanity has really never experienced in recent history (or at least in that of capitalism.) This phenomenon will (and already) have a huge implication…

how would you like to be remembered? another pov could be, what would you like for your eulogy to be?

I overestimated that this would take twenty years.
It’s basically six months later and I already see a lot of women within the circles I inhabit with carrying Songmont bags.
So this has left China at this point and is now becoming a trendy Southeast Asian…

A lot of people really don't know that elites give their kids HGH so they'll be taller!
Fewer people realize that this environmentally-transmitted advantage can be transmitted to future generations genetically.

Gratitude is POWERFUL
If you want to get ahead of 99% of people, then simply all you need to do is be grateful for what you have
Most people in the modern day are akin to miserable zombies, ALWAYS complaining about what they lack vs what they have - keeping…

today i was watching shopping in japan when i overheard a small kid asking his father
*pointing to the display cases of luxury watches*
“arent these just watches?”
“yes,” said dad
“why are they so expensive? they can only tell the time, right?”
“yes,” sighed dad as he continued browsing
“can’t you just look at your phone?”
couldn’t help but laugh because the purity of the child is spot on

I tell you, if one wants to be active, one mustn’t be afraid to do something wrong sometimes, not afraid to lapse into some mistakes. To be good — many people think that they’ll achieve it by doing no harm — and that’s a lie, and you said yourself in the past that it was a lie. That leads to stagnation, to mediocrity. Just slap something on it when you see a blank canvas staring at you with a sort of imbecility.
You don’t know how paralyzing it is, that stare from a blank canvas that says to the painter you can’t do anything. The canvas has an idiotic stare, and mesmerizes some painters so that they turn into idiots themselves.
Many painters are afraid of the blank canvas, but the blank canvas is afraid of the truly passionate painter who dares — and who has once broken the spell of ‘you can’t’.
Life itself likewise always turns towards one an infinitely meaningless, discouraging, dispiriting blank side on which there is nothing, any more than on a blank canvas.
But however meaningless and vain, however dead life appears, the man of faith, of energy, of warmth, and who knows something, doesn’t let himself be fobbed off like that. He steps in and does something, and hangs on to that, in short, breaks, ‘violates’ — they say.
