The biggest question- how to fund matching pool

It would be cool to kickstart long-term activities, eg issue publicnouns-like collection for DeSci, with funds going directly to matching pool

Any ideas how to get more funds to the matching pool are highly welcomed!

Hopefully HyperDeSci would be accepted to TEC round, and the funds will be used as matching pools for upcoming rounds!

Sorry for the delay with payouts, finally I've managed to do that starting with Optimism.

As the round is multichain there is no guide how to do that, so after some research how things works seems like the only way is to do like that:

1. The money has to go through Gitcoin smartcontract
2. It's possible to change voters cooficients, but it's not possible to add new
3. Gitcoin has build in mechanism for round with few donations
4. Paying out involves tons of transactions, starting with HyperDeSci multisig creation on every chain through getting funds from sponsors to Gitcoin interaction
5. With that it makes sense to transfer funds to the Round Two

With all that in mind I really want to finish it asap as it takes tons of energy :D

Running HyperDeSci takes lots of times and to make it sustainable we need a simple lightweight system

I'm summarizing my thoughts how it could be done it this doc, let's try to figure out framework that would make it work, so anyone would be able to run similar things on their own for things that they are interested in, while getting more funds to public goods and creating more web3 jobs!

Upd regarding Polygon:

Unfortunatally the funds are locked in the smartcontract, as it was a very special case (6 digit payout token + matching pool was increased after the round started)

Gitcoin is very kindfully would refund the money, thou it would take some time.

It’s really a crazy mess running several rounds simultaneous, I still have to finilalize the results, and I’m reeeeally exhausted.

Unfortunately the state of L2 and the way how eth design is not allowing to do seamless multichain

What if instead we could run a round on a new chain every week or 10 days, with a smaller matching pool?

Scroll performed really well, so what you think of starting a new round let’s say mid next week, from May 22 to end of May with like $500 in matching pool?

I've uploaded the full 1750, but seems like gitcoin had a minor bug and backend distrubuted just $1000.

I'm sorry for that, lets move $750 for the next round.

I'm so sorry, but I won't go into details trying to fix it, it's already took MUUUUCH more energy than I expected, and I want to focus on running the next round ASAP!
