▫️ Can electric cars be considered luxury goods?
Interesting U.S. statistics about the average selling price of new cars: the average car sold in June 2022 in the U.S. cost $48,000. The average premium car was $74,000, and the average electric car was almost $67,000. It is clear that these categories partially overlap, but in general - electric cars are still far away from the mass market and its prices (a compact crossover on average costs almost half as much as an electric car)
Also specifically for our market, it is very funny and sad to translate these prices into rubles. The average luxury car in the U.S. costs 4.5 million rubles - as a Chinese crossover Exeed TXL in our country in a good configuration. It's probably not a bad car either, but it's clearly not luxury. The average crossover costs about 2 million rubles - this is about the same as the main taxi-car of all Russia Hyundai Solaris (also in a good configuration). And for 26 thousand dollars (an average compact car) it is possible to buy excep
