The structure of the money supply in Russia
Of the total number of banknotes in circulation, 35% are 5000 bills. At the same time, according to data of the Bank of Russia, bills of 5000 rubles are expected to occupy 83% of all cash in circulation by the sum of denominations.
The banknote of 1,000 rubles is in second place by the number of banknotes, occupying a share of 21%. Another 17% is accounted for by the 100-ruble banknote.
Relatively new for Russia banknotes of 200 rubles and 2000 rubles take a rather modest share - only 2% and 4% of the total number of banknotes in circulation.
