Hossein Shanbehzadeh was sentenced to 12 years in prison for responding to a post by Ayatollah Khamenei with a dot alone and garnering more likes, leading to his arrest. He was sentenced to 5 years "for propaganda in favour of Israel", 4 years "for insulting Islamic shrines", 2 years for "spreading false information" and another 1 year for "anti-state propaganda".
The blogger's account has been deactivated and his lawyer intends to appeal the sentence.
