A missile fired from Yemen has hit a merchant ship off the country's coast, according to British maritime security firm Ambrey. The ship reported an explosion on board.
The incident comes after the Houthi group in Yemen fired several missiles at an American ship heading to Israel. The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said the group had targeted the ship KOL with several naval missiles in the Red Sea. The US Department of Defence reported that the Houthis had launched over 30 attacks on ships since November.
The US has led a coalition that has bombed Yemen in response to Houthi activities while backing Israel's bombing of Gaza by providing military and financial aid to the apartheid state.

🔹On the #Donetsk Front, the Russian Armed Forces seriously ⚠️pushed the AFU northeast of #Novomikhaylovka. The Ukrainian garrison in this settlement is actually covered from three sides, but it is not retreating. ⚠️Attempts by the RF Armed Forces to advance near #Georgiyevka, #Nevelskoye and #Pervomayskoye. On the southeastern outskirts of #Avdeyevka, fierce oncoming battles continue. The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) is cutting its aid by decree of Israel.
While the entire population of the Gaza Strip is on the brink of starvation due to Israel's blockade, several countries have decided to freeze their funds to UNRWA, on which more than two million Palestinians in Gaza and beyond depend for survival.
The decision by 14 Western countries and close allies of Israel only exacerbates an already dire situation caused by Israel's war of extermination against the enclave.
The West, through diplomatic channels, has forbidden Muslim countries from increasing funding for UNRWA.
Israel itself is forcing Western countries to suspend funding for UNRWA on the grounds that the agency's staff allegedly supported the Palestinian Hamas movement.
