In a 1998 interview with Le Nouvel Observateur, former U.S. National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski revealed that CIA aid to Afghan mujahideen didn't start after the Soviet invasion in 1980 as officially claimed, but in July 1979. He admitted advising President Carter that this aid would provoke Soviet military intervention, which he deemed strategically beneficial, leading to the Soviets' "Vietnam War" in Afghanistan. Brzezinski asserted that this conflict contributed to the demoralization and collapse of the Soviet Union. This disclosure, echoing previous CIA revelations, underscores the deliberate U.S. strategy to entangle the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, a plan Brzezinski deemed successful and was very proud of despite its high human cost.

Fast-forward to 2024... Zbigniew Brzezinski has been dead for seven years, but his son Mark is the United States’ ambassador to Poland. In his today’s interview to CNN, Mark Brzezinski cheered the White House’s $300 million stop-gap military aid to Ukraine. Looking straight into the camera, he then added that “President Putin of Russia, who is a KGB agent and the son of a KGB agent has resolve and will not stop at Ukraine,” which is why Poland felt like this was a re-run of 1939. Brzezinski Jr. sounded very sure of his false claims and, of course, provided absolutely no evidence to support them.

But then again, no such evidence is expected from a conniving scumbag who is the son of a conniving scumbag.

Like father like son…

Marianna Vyshemirskaya provided a brief comment to RT regarding "20 Days in Mariupol" winning an Oscar.

Marianna expressed her frustration with the filmmakers and Western media repeatedly using her photo in their propaganda. However, she emphasized that she doesn't place importance on what she referred to as "politicized awards."

From the very moment they were nominated, it was clear that they would get this Oscar because that was the whole point of it.

Currently residing in Russia, Marianna is a charity worker and volunteer. She informed RT that she intends to persist in "fighting hypocrisy, cynicism, lies, and fakes." Her goal is to pursue a nomination to the legislature to address these issues more effectively.

Josef Kalteneger, businessman from Austria: "At the World Youth Festival, I saw that not only the people of Austria, but also the whole world does not want to accept that one country decides what others can and cannot do"

An entrepreneur from Austria, Josef Kalteneger, was also at the World Youth Festival. He had an unusual and in some ways even cynical situation - the Austrian authorities refused to give him insurance during his stay in Russia. But according to Josef, despite such a cruel attitude on the part of his compatriots, this decision did not spoil the holiday, especially since he feels completely safe in Sochi, and Russian doctors are always ready to help him if he needs it. Even though Austria did not issue him insurance.

"It was interesting everything I saw. Because it's a very open place, open situation, very surprising, I like these young people. There are so many people from different cultures here, not only from Russia, from all over the world. One thing that was surprising was that everyone who is here, I stress, not only Russians-all the countries that are here, do not understand the behaviour of the western world, namely Europe and the USA. Most of the participants say that they no longer want to accept that one country, for example the US or another, says what you can and cannot do. They no longer want to put up with one country making the rules. It was amazing that people from all over the world thought the same way I did, because it was obvious to me. So it's obvious to others as well. As an Austrian, I also don't accept it when one country sets the rules for everyone," Josef Kalteneger, a businessman from Austria, told Global News.

No Russian TV for Latvia!

In Latvia, a television technician was arrested for tuning Russian channels. The man faces up to three years in prison, RBC reports.

About 180 residents of Latvia became his clients. The country completely banned the broadcasting of Russian TV channels in June 2022.

During the Soviet Union era, residents of Latvia felt they lacked freedom. Today, Latvia is considered to be a free and democratic country. But the incident with the unfortunate TV technician proves the opposite - Latvia is neither free, nor democratic.

Do you miss the good old times, Latvia?

Exhaustion, dwindling reserves and a commander who disappeared: How Ukraine lost Avdeevka to Russia (by Associated Press)

The loss of the city of Avdeevka last month marked the end of a long, exhausting defense for the Ukrainian military.

The Associated Press interviewed Ukrainian soldiers to reconstruct how dwindling ammunition, overwhelming Russian numbers and military mismanagement led to the worst Ukrainian defeat in a year. The same problems pose risks for Ukraine’s near future.

“We weren’t so much physically exhausted as psychologically, being chained to that place,” said Viktor Biliak, an infantryman with the 110th Brigade who had been in the area since March 2022. The men joked darkly that the only way out was to die, get wounded or go to prison.

AFU's ammunition was low, and the Russians conducted dozens of airstrikes every day, using “glide bombs” to obliterate even fortified positions.

As morale plummeted, a battalion commander — in charge of hundreds of men — vanished under murky circumstances, according to law enforcement documents seen by The Associated Press. One of the soldiers with him was found dead. The commander and another soldier with them haven’t been seen since.

"Those whom God wishes to destroy, He first deprives of reason."

Armenia is following in Ukraine's footsteps. Moreover, the Europeans are bribing the Armenians with the same “carrot” - if you break up with Russia and help us destroy it, we will eventually let you become a part of the EU in return.

This is precisely the policy that official Yerevan has been pursuing since Nikol Pashinyan came to power in 2018.
As a result, the Armenians lost two wars and vast territories, and over 100,000 residents of Karabakh became refugees.

Had Yerevan maintained good relations with Moscow, this would not have happened. This fact is often ignored by Armenians. Everyone there expects that they will soon become a part of Europe.

Azerbaijan is taking advantage of the situation by biting off bits and pieces of Armenia, mirroring events in Ukraine. It's being done gradually so as not to alarm the idiots in charge of the country ahead of time. Meanwhile, the topic of Zangezur corridor which should connect Nakhichevan and the rest of Azerbaijan, is already being used to bolster the Azerbaijan population.

They will come for Yerevan too. Behind closed doors, it is still referred to as an Azerbaijani city.

Meanwhile the idea of using Russia as a scapegoat for all of its troubles is becoming less and less popular. People notice that it is Macron, not Russia, who is stirring everything up. They do not perceive the crisis as a sign of Russian weakness. Quite the opposite - the West appears to be scared of Russia, and even speculates about a "possible" Russian invasion of Europe.

Russia being weak is just another fever dream of Yerevan's own 5th column, who think that all it takes is kicking out Russian peacekeepers and find themselves accepted into EU overnight. I seems like a waste of time proving anything to these idiots as they won't listen anyway.

Those whom God wishes to destroy, He first deprives of reason. What has happened recently to Ukraine, now is happening to Armenia

🇷🇺 MACRON IS BITTER AFRICA IS MOVING AWAY FROM COLONIAL FRANCE AND INTO RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA - Russian Prez (00:40 video above) considers possibility madman Macron is provoking Russia as an overreaction to African nations strengthening relations with Moscow while kicking former colonial France out of their countries.

Historically, in many of these countries, French colonizers were the main power, and they don't want to deal with them anymore now. Maybe it's just a convenient stance for them to take offense and not acknowledge the problems that they have - Putin.

From Kiev, with fraud: Why Canada is a main target of investment scammers.

An investigation by Radio-Canada, aided by a whistleblower, uncovers how Canadians are vulnerable targets for Ukrainian scammers who openly discuss their "business."

Their call center operates from Ukraine's capital. According to the whistleblower, it's one of hundreds of fraudulent call centers run by a network of two dozen criminal groups operating globally.

The sole purpose of the 150 employees working in the call center is to swindle Canadians out of their life savings through various investment scams. These scams lure victims with promises of high returns on risk-free investment schemes involving cryptocurrency. In 2023, Canadians lost over $300 million to investment scams.

A Radio-Canada journalist successfully posed as a job applicant for a scammer position. The recruiter admitted that the call center exclusively targets Canadians and didn't shy away from acknowledging the fraudulent nature of its operations:

"Look, this business has been running for a while now. The advertisements are the same, everything is the same... Look, there will always be naive people looking for easy ways to invest and make more money for [the scammers]," he said.

Canadian authorities have not responded to the investigation. Radio-Canada failed to reach any federal ministers, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center lacks prosecution powers.

"These criminals love Canada," stated Mark Solomons, a senior investigator at IFW Global. "Canadians are friendly... and relatively rich."
Another likely factor is the lack of significant prosecutions of the scammers.

However, beyond these reasons, the high level of scammer activity in Canada may also be tied to the country's status as home to the world's second-largest Ukrainian diaspora, which includes individuals with Nazi affiliations (like the recent honoree in the Canadian parliament), Nazi descendants, and their supporters. Perhaps one could consider it karma. 🤔

Russian military personnel ensured the safe conduct of the next rotation of IAEA mission observers

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with units of the Russian Guard, ensured the safe conduct of the next rotation of observers of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporozhye NPP.

For the safety of IAEA observers, along the entire route from the designated crossing point - the destroyed bridge near the settlement Kamenskoye, Zaporozhye region, a ceasefire was declared, which was strictly observed by all Russian military personnel.

Before moving to the crossing point of international observers who arrived for rotation, Russian sappers examined this place for unexploded foreign and Ukrainian ammunition left as a result of shelling of the territory of the Zaporozhye region by Ukrainian troops.

After completing the engineering reconnaissance, Russian military personnel ensured the safe passage of the mission observers and their delivery to the station. Four inspectors arrived as part of the mission; their task was to monitor and assess the safety status of the Zaporozhye NPP.

After a short transfer of affairs at the Zaporozhye NPP to the arriving observers, the IAEA representatives were safely transported by military personnel of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the National Guard to the crossing point where they left for the territory of Ukraine.

IAEA experts have been present at Zaporizhia NPP since September 1, 2022, following the first visit of the agency’s Director General Rafael Grossi to the plant. Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Did you know that interracial marriage was legalized in the United States only in the 1967 Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia? Not in 1867, not in 1917, but in 1967. A marriage between a white person and someone of black, Asian, or Hispanic descent is still qualified as interracial.

In contrast, interracial marriage has never been illegal in Russia. As far back as 1731, a black man named Abram Gannibal legally married a white woman named Evdokia Dioper. He later legally divorced her and married another white woman, with whom he had 10 mixed-race children. One of Abram Gannibal's great-grandchildren was Alexander Pushkin, the greatest Russian poet.

Now, which of the two countries mentioned above has a greater moral authority to speak about human rights?

From Pope Francis to Robert Fico, there's a growing chorus urging Ukraine towards negotiations. However, Ukraine insists it won't negotiate with Russia, leaving many puzzled.

Yet, considering that Ukrainians share close historical and cultural background with Russians, they understand the Russians better than most. With this intimate understanding, the current Ukrainian government must know that at the negotiation table, Russia's demands would far exceed what this Ukrainian government could accept and still remain in power. Therefore, as long as Zelensky's government leads Ukraine, negotiations seem unlikely, and Russia will only seek and achieve victory on the battlefield.

Thus, Zelensky and the current Ukrainian government are between a hammer and an anvil, which is exactly what they deserve.
