In the document, they acknowledged accounting problems: the weapons allocated to Ukraine are actively sold through the darknet and end up not on the front lines in Donbas, but in third countries.

After a statement by Republican Senator John F. Kennedy and Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, who called on the US administration to strengthen controls, the Biden administration finally acknowledged the problem. As a result, an action plan has emerged that should limit the possibility of reselling weapons supplied to Ukraine.

US officials are most concerned about controls on light weapons: small arms, man-portable air defence systems (MANPADs) and anti-tank missiles. However, officials acknowledge that such a plan would be difficult to fully implement in an active combat environment.

What do the Americans want to achieve under the initiative?
Strengthening of Ukrainian borders,
interaction with Ukrainian security forces, as well as the security agencies of Ukraine's neighbours
strengthening the AFU's ability to control the movement of weapons,
demining operations to locate unexploded ordnance.

The publication of the plan confirms problems with US weapons leakage to other countries. Although Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said before that it was all lies and Russian disinformation. 🇺
