To polish the plastic fantastic theme, the global company Mattel is getting into NFTs: the legendary toymaker has signed a multi-year partnership with forthcoming toy-focused NFT marketplace Cryptoys to exclusively feature its brands on the platform.
Cryptoys is expected to launch in late summer 2022 on the Flow blockchain and the developers, OnChain Studios, also plan to make a Cryptoys metaverse and other play-to-earn games where Mattel’s intellectual property — including Barbie, Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe, among many others — will be made into playable avatars.

Instigators would like to thank our partners for Art Dubai 2022 - artist Uta Bekaia, Window Project gallery and 4ARTechnologies for investing so much effort in the Sacred Creatures NFT drop. This collaboration proved to be beyond than successful: the whole collection was sold out within first 24 hours and became one of the most recognizable images of the fair.

As Art Dubai introduces a digital exhibition for its 2022 event, Dan Murphy explores the impact of Web3 on the art world and meets Denis Davydov, who turns his creative partner's watercolor paintings into digital avatars for the metaverse.
MTV Video Music Awards adds Best Metaverse Performance Category for virtual concerts
The upcoming MTV Video Music Awards 2022 has created a new category this year in order to honor the best music performances in virtual spaces.
Nominees for the "Best Metaverse Performance" category include Ariana Grande, BLACKPINK, BTS, Justin Bieber, Charli XCX and Twenty One Pilots, who all performed at various virtual events.
Online voting is currently available, and winners are set to be announced alongside the rest of the categories on August 28th on MTV.
In the video messages below Katya Yonder, the voice and one of the master minds behind the sound art for The Others Will Join series by Instigators, is revealing her inspiration sources and declares her love for MTV era:
