InteRussia Latin America fellowship: a week of insights and inspiration

Last week, our Latin American journalists dove deep into the world of modern media, exploring how technology, creativity, and culture intersect in today’s global communication landscape.

Their journey included:

workshops at Sputnik on digital storytelling, visual journalism, and innovative tools for media professionals;
podcast recording practice;
a breathtaking performance of “Giselle” at the Kremlin Palace;
a visit to the Moscow metro control center, the traffic management hub, and the electric bus charging station;
meetings with diplomats and experts, including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Director of the Institute of Latin America of RAS.

Each day of the program brings new perspectives and connections, shaping a fuller understanding of Russia and its dialogue with Latin America.

🌱 And this is just the beginning — stay tuned to see where the next week takes our fellows! Spoiler: they’re heading to one of the world’s biggest energy events ⚡️

The InteRussia fellowship for journalists from Latin America is implemented within the framework of the New Generation program of Rossotrudnichestvo and with the support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.

Theatre fellows complete their journey at GITIS

For six inspiring weeks, our InteRussia theatre fellows — actors from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mauritania, South Africa, Tunisia, India, and China — immersed themselves in the creative world of Russian theatre.

Under the guidance of GITIS professors, they refined their skills in voice, movement, and stage performance, embracing the discipline and artistry that define the Russian acting tradition.

What else happened over these six weeks?

⭕️Meetings with theatre professionals, who shared personal insights
⭕️Exploring Moscow’s theatre world through visits to the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow Musical Theatre, and the Moscow Art Theatre
⭕️Cultural immersion into Moscow’s history and traditions
⭕️Final performance as a poetic culmination of their journey, inspired by Alexander Ostrovsky’s The Thunderstorm

For many, it was more than just a professional program — it was a transformative journey through art, culture, and human connection.

📌As Konstantin Stanislavsky once said: “Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art.” And that is exactly what our fellows have learnt to do!

The InteRussia fellowship in theatre arts is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, GITIS, TV BRICS, within the framework of the New Generation program of Rossotrudnichestvo and with the support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.

Happy birthday to two bright stars in the InteRussia universe! 🎉

This week, two very special people in our team celebrated their birthdays — Lyana and Artyom!

Lyana has been with InteRussia since the very beginning and now is the heart of our medical fellowship. She’s the calm in every emergency, and the one who somehow keeps dozens of doctors on schedule (and smiling). Calm in every emergency, caring in every moment, she makes even the most intense fellowship days feel easy.

Artyom is our newest curator who joined the team just recently, but already manages two fellowships at once — in biotechnology and international relations. Always ready to help both fellows and colleagues, he’s a good fit for the team!

Lyana, Artyom — thank you for your energy, kindness, and for being the people everyone can count on. May this year bring you new achievements, inspiring journeys, and as much joy as you bring to everyone around you!

We’re lucky to have you both in our family

Inside Russian diplomacy: what’s behind the headlines? ⭕️

Last Friday, the InteRussia journalists from Latin America visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation — one of the key stops in their program.

The participants met with Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian MFA, who shared her perspective on the current challenges in international relations and the evolving role of media in global diplomacy.

What did the fellows get to experience first-hand?

⭕️ They asked all their most pressing questions about today’s world politics;
⭕️ had an open and sincere exchange with a leading voice of Russian diplomacy;
⭕️ and even heard a few exclusive insights.

Such meetings give our fellows a rare opportunity to engage directly with Russian diplomacy — not from the news, but from the people who create them!

The InteRussia fellowship for journalists from Latin America is implemented within the framework of the New Generation program of Rossotrudnichestvo and with the support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
