Today, Vasily Pushkov, Director for International Cooperation at the Rossiya Segodnya Media Group, discussed these and other issues with the participants of the InteRussia fellowship programme in international relations.
”In 2022, we were profoundly shocked by the decision of some major social platforms such as Instagram* and Facebook* (banned in Russia) to restrict reader’s access to our channels after which we lost a major part of our worldwide audience almost overnight. However, we soon came up with a solution, which was Telegram. It turned out that the majority of our readers were either already using this app or were eager to transition to it. Telegram became the platform that allowed us to reestablish our worldwide readership,” Vasily Pushkov said during his speech.
