InteRussia Fellowship For Journalists Starts Today ▶️

On September 30th, the InteRussia programme in Journalism was launched at Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency in Moscow. Our new talents are journalists from 11 BRICS+ countries: Kenya, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Ethiopia, Egypt, Iran, China, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia.

Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director at the Gorchakov Fund, greeted the participants, stating:

This year, because of chairmanship of the Russian Federation in BRICS, we decided to bring BRICS countries all together. I hope after this month you will know more about Russia.

In his turn, Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik International News Agency and Radio, emphasized the significance of this programme not only for the fellows but also for their Russian counterparts. It fosters cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration in the field of journalism.

📌 Following the opening ceremony, the journalists embarked on a comprehensive tour of International Information Agency office, gaining a firsthand look at the dynamic environment where news is crafted.

InteRussia Fellowship in International Relations Is Launched 🌐

On October 1, the InteRussia fellowship in international relations was launched at the prestigious Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were welcomed by representatives of the Gorachakov Fund, IMEMO, and Rossotrudnichestvo, as well as other partners of the New Generation program.

Victoria Karslieva, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund, addressed the fellows noting the following,

Ahead of you are four weeks of intensive work with lead specialists from RAS Institutes. The goal of the program is that you could return home with a clear understanding of and plan for your professional development in the chosen area of cooperation with Russia. Our specialists will definitely help you and share their experience.

In his turn, Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of IMEMO, presented the Institute's main activities and explained to the participants what awaits them as part of the fellowship.

📌Following the opening ceremony, international relations specialists went on a sightseeing tour of Moscow and visited the Victory Museum.

Exploring the Mysteries of the Brain 🔍

Our fellows never miss the opportunity to visit Skoltech, and this time was no exception. The young specialists in medicine delved into the Skoltech Center for Neurobiology and Brain Rehabilitation's exciting work.

Founded in 2018, Skoltech Neuro is engaged in scientific research and innovative developments for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of nervous and cognitive disorders. It strives to be a leader in the field of neurobiology in Russia, driving forward new discoveries and breakthroughs that will transform the understanding and treatment of neurological and cognitive disorders.

As part of their fascinating journey, our fellows attended the Laboratory of Brain-Computer Interfaces and the Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience. Here, they uncovered some techniques that are used to study the brain and heal neurological and mental diseases:

🧠 transcranial magnetic stimulation that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells and influence the brain's natural electrical activity;

🧠 metabolite extraction from plasma that helps to better understand metabolic changes linked to brain disorders;

🧠 molecular methods for studying biological fluids and tissues.

They also learned how fundamental research paves the way for developing clinical methods used to assess and rehabilitate patients after neurological сonditions.

The human brain holds countless secrets, and with every new discovery, we move closer to understanding its vast potential 🧠
