What does it mean to preserve the past in a changing world? 📎

When your journey takes you to St. Petersburg, every street feels like a story you can walk through. Last week, our fellows in Oriental Studies packed their bags, grabbed their notebooks (and umbrellas, just in case), and set off to discover the cultural heart of Russia.

So, where did the hunt for knowledge lead them?

🔴The Institute of Oriental Manunoscripts
🔴The Saint Petersburg Institute of History
🔴The Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera)
🔴The State Hermitage Museum, where the fellows met with Dr. Mikhail Piotrovsky, the museum’s director

Four days, dozens of discoveries, and endless inspiration — we came back with more than just photos. We came back with new ideas. When culture, history, and international exchange come together in one place, it sparks something truly unforgettable.

💗 What if you could cross Russia in just a couple of hours?

Yesterday, our international relations fellows did just that — not by plane or train, but by stepping into the immersive world of the Russia National Centre.

The Russia National Centre is a cultural and educational hub designed for everyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of Russia and its rich, diverse culture. Think of it as Russia’s story, told in 360°.

First, the InteRussia participants made a journey through Russia’s regions — from Kamchatka’s volcanoes to the golden churches of historic cities. They

💗 explored Arctic research and space missions,
💗 walked through Siberian tech hubs,
💗 and discovered the vibrant traditions of the North Caucasus.

It wasn’t just about facts — it was about feeling how vast and varied Russia truly is.

Then the group dove into the architectural DNA of the nation, discovering how Russia’s changing skylines reflect its shifting identity. Towers, domes, bold lines, and quiet symmetry — every structure had its story.

In just a few hours, our fellows traveled through time and space, from ancient traditions to modern innovation. It was a glimpse into a living, breathing Russia that never stops evolving.

The InteRussia Fellowship for OIC Journalists Launches in Moscow 💌

On April 21, the Sputnik's parent company, Rossiya Segodnya, hosted the official opening ceremony of the InteRussia fellowship in journalism for specialists from the OIC countries.

The participants were welcomed by

🔴Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director at the Gorchakov Fund,
🔴Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik International News Agency and Radio Broadcast Service.

By bringing together international journalists from such diverse backgrounds, the InteRussia fellowship allows them to directly engage with Russian media practices through hands-on experience, but more importantly, it sparks the kind of honest exchange that journalism desperately needs right now, — noted Vasily Pushkov.

During this month, fellows from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, and Qatar will attend master classes and workshops led by agency experts, meet with representatives of leading Russian companies and think tanks, and explore the history and cultural traditions of Russia.

As the program progresses, the InteRussia participants will return to their home countries equipped with new insights, enhanced skills, and a broader understanding of global media dynamics — stay tuned for further updates.

🎥 The day X has come!

At this moment, the InteRussia fellows in Oriental Studies are presenting the outcomes of their research they’ve spent a whole month developing — thoughtful, ambitious works shaped by long hours and deep focus.

They may look composed, but we know what’s behind those calm faces: anticipation and the quiet thrill.

⚡️ — To wish them success!

🎥 Now, let’s turn to the international relations fellows

While our oriental studies specialists are wrapping up their presentations, the MGIMO Institute for International Studies is full of equally focused energy — the InteRussia fellows in international relations are defending their projects today as well.

The participants' research tackles big questions — from geopolitics and global alliances to urban inequality and energy partnerships. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their work.

🤩 — To support our fellows and remind them, your ideas matter!
