VDNH Hosts Opening of InteRussia Program on Engineering 🔧

On May 24, the "Atom" pavilion at VDNH hosted the grand opening of the "Science and Technology" block of Rossotrudnichestvo's "New Generation" program, within the framework of which participants of the InteRussia internship on engineering arrived in Russia.

Among the speakers were:
✅ Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo
✅ Mr. Bashar Jaafari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation
✅ Dr. Yousef Luay, Head of the Russian-Syrian Business Council
✅ Alexander Rogozhin, Director for Personnel Management and Organizational Development of the Wind Energy Division of Rosatom State Corporation
✅ Victoria Karslieva, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund
✅ Evgeny Pavlovsky, Head of the Laboratory of Streaming Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Novosibirsk State University.

After the opening, two master classes were held for the participants: on the use of neural networks and clean energy. Then, they were given a tour of the "Atom" pavilion exhibition, as well as the "Russia" exhibition.

🌍 In total, 1️⃣6️⃣ people from 9️⃣ countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Belarus, Indonesia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Algeria — arrived within the framework of the program.

Immersing in the Russian Literature 🪶

Our Russian Studies fellows have embarked on intensive weeks of study at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow. With three lectures per day, these eager learners are diving deep into the fascinating world of Russian Studies and literature.

The lectures cover a wide range of topics, from the interplay between philology and culture to the role of reading complex texts in personal development.

For example, yesterday’s lectures included:

✅ Corpus research in language didactics and the corpus projects of the Pushkin Institute

✅ The phenomenon of the Golden Age and the Silver Age in Russian literature

At the end of each day, the fellows meet with their scientific supervisors to discuss the projects they are working on during their stay in Russia. This hands-on approach ensures that our fellows receive personalized guidance and support as they apply their newfound knowledge to real-world projects.

Did you know that our engineering fellows are undergoing their fellowship... in Siberia? 🐻

That's right! This week, our foreign specialists arrived in Novosibirsk, more than 3,000 kilometers from Moscow, for their fellowship that is being undertaken at the Akademgorodok.

Akademgorodok, which translates to "Academic Town," is a unique scientific research center located in the heart of Novosibirsk. Established in the 1950s, It’s home to numerous research institutes, universities, and innovative companies, all nestled within a picturesque forest setting.

The fellows have been divided into three cutting-edge fields:

🌃 Artificial Intelligence in an Urban Environment (Smart City)

🩺 Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

💻 Information Technology and Photonics

During their stay, they will work closely with their scientific supervisors, who are experts in all there fields. In addition to their hands-on work, they will have the opportunity to visit the laboratories of NSU and explore the cutting-edge facilities and equipment available at the university.

As they embark on this adventure in the heart of Siberia, our foreign specialists will not only gain professional experience but also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique culture and breathtaking natural beauty of the region.

Journalism Fellows Immerse in International Relations at the Gorchakov Fund 🧐

Our journalists spent an enriching day at the Gorchakov Fund, where they were treated to a series of insightful meetings.

🔜 The fellows kicked off the day by meeting with Maxim Suchkov, the head of the Institute for International Studies at MGIMO University.

He delved into Russia's stance on various geopolitical issues and the foreign policy of the United States. Suchkov placed particular emphasis on the ongoing rivalry between Russia and the United States, highlighting the challenges in their relationship. Additionally, he shed light on the significant roles played by China and India in modern international relations, discussing their influence on global dynamics and the shifting balance of power.

🔜 Next, the participants had the privilege of engaging with Dmitry Polikanov, the deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo.

The speaker provided valuable insights into the activities and initiatives of the Russian Houses, particularly focusing on their work in the Middle East.

The day continued with the presentations of the Gorchakov Fund and the Primakov Center, offering an overview of their missions, projects, and contributions to the field of international relations and journalism.

Exciting times lie ahead for our fellows as they gear up for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) next week. As Russia's largest economic event, SPIEF will provide them with a platform to put their skills into practice and cover significant discussions in the world of business and economics.
