InteRussia Voices at the Valdai Club's New Generation Conference ⭐️
On April 23–25, the InteRussia participants lit up the stage at the II Youth Conference of the Valdai Club's New Generation project in Moscow — a platform where the future of global dialogue takes shape. This time they discussed the powerful themes of conflict and integration in a rapidly evolving world.
We are proud that InteRussia was represented by:
⚫️ our current fellow Ladislav Zemanek, Non-Resident Research Fellow at the China-CEE Institute;
⚫️ Rupal Mishra, PhD Candidate, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University;
⚫️ Boris Perius Zabolotsky, Professor at the Federal University for the Integration of Lusophony Brazil and Africa (UNILAB), PhD in Political Science, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS);
⚫️ Milana Zhivanovich, Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Contemporary History of Serbia.
The conference also featured the presentation of the report "The New Horizons of Multipolarity," which was shaped with the contribution of the InteRussia participants. It explores how the new architecture of international relations is being redefined by regional powers, emerging alliances, and fresh visions of sovereignty and cooperation.
We are honored to see our fellows not just observing the world's changes but actively shaping its future.

Telling the World’s Stories: InteRussia at MediaLab BRICS 📢
From April 27 to May 1, young journalists from across the BRICS countries came together in Kazan for MediaLab BRICS — an international media school designed to dive into global media trends, explore the rich culture of Tatarstan, and collaborate on a cross-border journalism project.
Among the distinguished experts were our InteRussia fellows:
🖇 Janvi Sonaiya, IANS India Private Limited reporter;
🖇 Reza Edalatipour, Iran Newspaper journalist.
Both reflected on the ethical and practical challenges faced by international reporters in today's rapidly evolving media landscape. Their stories sparked open, thoughtful conversations — and reminded everyone why honest, involved, and precise journalism still matters.
We’re proud to see our InteRussia fellows shaping the future of global media discourse.

Behind the Headlines: OIC Journalists Visit RT Arabic 🟩
As part of their media tour, our fellows from OIC countries visited RT Arabic, where they got an inside look at how global news is brought to life.
And here’s what happens when a group of talented young journalists finds themselves at the heart of one of the most dynamic Arabic-language newsrooms in Russia:
💚 a behind-the-scenes look at RT in action — from live broadcasts to breaking news coverage;
💚 an exchange of ideas on how to cover global topics and work across different languages and cultures;
💚 a discussion about future collaboration, new media formats, and what international journalism might look like tomorrow.
The visit became a space for real dialogue — full of questions, new perspectives, and that spark you get when professionals truly connect.
💞 After a day of hearing Arabic all around, our PR team is seriously considering adding a new language to their skill set.

Exploring Global Dynamics: Highlights from the International Relations Fellowship 📝
While Russia enjoys the May holidays, it’s a great time to reflect on everything that happened during the recent InteRussia fellowship in international relations.
Over the course of the program, what started as a professional opportunity quickly became something much more — a time for exploration, exchange, and fresh perspective.
Here’s what our fellows were up to:
⭐️ they developed research papers focused on the political dynamics of the Global South under the academic guidance of the MGIMO Institute for International Studies's experts;
⭐️ joined the IMEMO International Young Scholars Conference, diving into global development models and debating bold ideas with experts and peers from across the world;
⭐️ engaged in an in-depth discussion with Fyodor Lukyanov and explored Russia’s media and innovation hubs through visits to RT headquarters and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology;
⭐️ immersed themselves in Russia’s rich cultural heritage — from the emotional performance of Giselle ballet to discovering the country’s vastness at the Russia National Center.
The program may be officially over, but its impact is just beginning. The ideas, networks, and memories built during these weeks will continue to shape our fellows’ professional journeys for years to come.
We’ll be eagerly waiting for their published research — and of course, we’ll share it with you. Stay tuned!

Tuning In to the East: Wrapping Up the InteRussia Fellowship in Oriental Studies ✨
Hello, hello — how are our orientalists doing out there? They have just completed a remarkable deep dive into centuries of Eastern wisdom, hidden archives, and vibrant cultural layers — and now it’s time to share what they uncovered.
❌ Guided by scholars from the Institute of Oriental Studies RAS, the fellows decoded complex narratives and defended research projects that bridge the past and present of Eastern civilizations.
❌ They joined discussions at the Valdai Discussion Club and the Russian International Affairs Council and explored how natural sciences support archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology.
❌ The participants also gained access to rare archival collections at the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, and the Pushkin Museum’s closed vaults.
❌ In St. Petersburg, they met with Mikhail Piotrovsky and stepped into the intellectual heart of the East, visiting the Institute of Oriental Manunoscripts, the Saint Petersburg Institute of History, and the legendary Kunstkamera.
❌ Not just observers, our orientalists stepped into the rhythm of Russian cultural and spiritual life — from the halls of the State Historical Museum, the State Russian Library, and the silence of the Novodevichy Monastery to the call to prayer at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and reflections inside the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia.
What do they take with them? A new lens on the East, informed by context, complexity, and curiosity, that will become building blocks for the future of scholarship and cross-cultural dialogue.
Their research is almost ready to meet the world — and we promise it’s worth the wait💎
