📰 According to Bloomberg, the company will have several brand new devices, which are considered inside Apple as the biggest anniversary initiatives. And the innovations will not only be on the hardware side, but also on the software side, including the AI area (honest-to-goodness).

🔎 Apple's plan for 2027:

・The first foldable iPhone with no visible bend in the internal display (for the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone);

・An all-glass iPhone with a curved body and without a single notch in the display (for the 10th anniversary of the iPhone X);

・Apple smart glasses with cameras and Visual Intelligence features to gather information about the environment (and not only about it ;) );

・New AirPods with cameras for Visual Intelligence;

・Apple Watch with a camera for Visual Intelligence;

・A desktop device with a robotic arm based on an AI-enabled smart home hub under development;

・A new foldable large device that will be something between an iPad and a Mac while still having a touchscreen (but likely in 2028);

・Two important Apple AI developments are in the pipeline: powerful server chips that will power next-generation Apple Intelligence and a cutting-edge Siri with its own LLM that should make the assistant more human-like.

💪 Mark Gurman notes that waiting for these new products will give optimism to those who are tired of boring and slow updates. Simply put: the company will once again harness long and then go fast.

🇪🇺 iPhones will be allowed to set third-party voice assistant as default in the EU

📰 As Mark Gurman reports, Apple will have to introduce a feature to support third-party voice assistants under pressure from EU authorities to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

🔍 So iPhone users will be able to set, for example, Google Assistant as the default voice assistant and invoke it with the side button instead of Siri.

💭 It will also be possible to put a voice assistant based on ChatGPT. Right now, Siri as part of Apple Intelligence is able to relay verbal requests to ChatGPT, but with the introduction of the new feature, it will be possible to remove Siri from this chain and address ChatGPT directly.

🤫 When exactly Apple will prepare this feature for release is still unknown. But the company will definitely not present it with pomp, and will announce it quietly, as it seeks to preserve its own services.

📰 Apple is no longer planning to release an Apple Watch that includes a camera, reports Bloomberg. Apple was developing Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra models that had a camera to view the wearer's surrounding environment, but work on those projects ended this week.

👁️ The camera in Apple Watch would not have been used for FaceTime or photos, but instead would have allowed owners to get information about objects and places near them with Visual Intelligence.

🎧 Nevertheless Apple is still developing AirPods with tiny cameras inside. The AirPods cameras may be infrared sensors to enable features like enhanced spatial audio, in-air gesture control, and AI capabilities.
