That's slightly bigger than analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claim. Larger device with a 2-inch display – that's even bigger than the Apple Watch Ultra display.

It’s also rumored that the Apple Watch Series 10 or X will get a redesigned band connection system. This could be a new magnetic band attachment system.

🆕 in iOS 18 beta 2

🎛 Control Center – Controls can now be placed anywhere and in different rows, similar to the app icons on the Home screen.

The device's on/off button in Control Center is also reported to have a more pronounced tactile feedback when pressed, and it will only trigger when held, rather than just accidentally touched. This will prevent accidental presses of the device's on/off button when using the Control Center.

📱 Another new feature in iOS 18 is SharePlay Screensharing

📱 The 9to5Mac publication has shown a video demonstration of the SharePlay feature, which allows you to share and control your screen with another device. The feature so far works on iOS 18 beta 2 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 devices, as well as macOS Sequoia beta 2.

📞 In the screen control mode during a FaceTime conversation, you can interact with your interlocutor's device: swipe your finger or Apple Pencil on the screen, make notes and comments. It is not without bugs and errors, as it is a beta version, but many things work quite well.

🔗 Apple Vision Pro sales officially launched yesterday in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore

📸 Apple shared photos from the sales launch. At Apple Wangfujing in Beijing, China, the first customers were greeted by Deirdre O'Brien, senior vice president of retail.

🌧 At Tokyo's Apple Omotesando, there was a line of Vision Pro buyers from the morning, despite the weather. Many customers also took up the entire demo area to try out the new product.

🔗 At Singapore's Apple Orchard Road, customers also got a chance to try on and try out Apple's space computer as well as purchase accessories. In some local stores only the more expensive versions of the devices are already in stock, and so the demand continues even six months after the start of sales in the United States.

💸 Initial regional prices for the new product at the Apple Store:
🇨🇳 China – from RMB 29999
🇭🇰 Hong Kong – from HK$27999
🇯🇵 Japan – from ¥599800
🇸🇬 Singapore – from S$5299

🆕 in macOS 15.0 Sequoia beta 2 and iOS/iPadOS 18 beta 2

🎞 Finder: Files and documents that were previously downloaded when viewed in ☁️ iCloud Drive can now be left downloaded on the device by right-clicking on the file or folder. On successful activation, the cloud icon next to the item becomes opaque - this means the file has been downloaded and left on the device.

📁 Files: the exact same option is available on iOS/iPadOS 18. It works similarly: you can specifically set a setting to keep files and documents on your device, regardless of how much memory they take up. Previously, they could be uploaded automatically and there's no way to undo that, but now you can save the necessary files permanently.

💸 Apple plans to produce AirPods with in-built cameras by 2026

・Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared an update on Project 'B798' – a variation of the AirPods headphones with a built-in camera. The headphones will have an IR camera similar to the Face ID sensor in the iPhone, and this could be used with Apple Vision Pro, among others, to improve the user's tracking in space.

・For example, when a user watches video with the Vision Pro, but listens to audio in AirPods with IR sensors – when turning their head, the audio source will move in the same direction within the space that is projected to them. This would be some new variation of the Spatial Audio feature, at a more advanced level. Also, IR sensors in the headphones could give the functionality of gesture control in the air, the company also has a patent for such a thing.

・The supplier of components for such AirPods is Foxconn, Apple's longtime partner. The companies are discussing supplying 18 to 20 million IR sensors by 2026, which is 9 to 10 million pairs of AirPods. It is not yet known exactly what model it will be.

💸 New AirPods Pro features in iOS 18

New features for the AirPods Pro should arrive after the release of iOS 📱 and will be available on both the first- and second-generation models.

🗺 Head gestures to interact with Siri
This feature will allow users to answer or decline calls with a simple nod or shake of the head. Additionally, Siri Interactions will enable users to handle calls, messages, notifications, and more, all without speaking.

💨 Voice isolation for better calling
Apple's iPhones have a calling feature that makes the user's voice clearer to the person they're speaking to, even in a noisy environment. With iOS 18, Apple is adding Voice Isolation to the AirPods Pro to reduce loud background sounds. Typically, the microphones on AirPods Pro pick up a wide range of environmental sounds, such as wind around the caller. However, with Voice Isolation, machine learning will identify these sounds, block out ambient noise nd prioritise your voice for clearer communication.

🎮 Personalized Spatial Audio for gaming
This featire will offer the immersive audio experience customers enjoy while listening to music or watching movies and shows. Additionally, game developers can integrate spatial audio into their games for a more immersive audio experience.

🔉 More control over Adaptive Audio Control
Second-generation AirPods Pro feature Adaptive Audio, known as Adaptive Noise Control, which adjusts sound and active noise cancellation based on your environment. Currently, Adaptive Audio is an all-or-nothing setting, but Apple may introduce a "Customize Adaptive Audio" menu that may allow users to fine-tune the setting to permit more or less noise.

🦻Hearing Aid mode for improved accessibility
AirPods Pro may receive a new "hearing aid mode" with the release of iOS 18 later this year. While AirPods Pro already include a Conversation Boost feature that enhance the volume and clarity of voices directly in front of the wearer, Apple has not yet marketed the earbuds as a hearing aid device.

📱 code suggests all iPhone 16 models will use same A18 chip

📱Code references found in Apple's backend reveal that the company is working on five new iPhone models that will likely use the same A18 chip.

The code references were shared with MacRumors. They reveal the following iPhone identifiers:
・ iPhone17,1
・ iPhone17,2
・ iPhone17,3
・ iPhone17,4
・ iPhone17,5

Apple typically uses identifiers that line up with the chip used. For example, the iPhone models with an A14 chip have a 13,x identifier. iPhone models with an A15 chip have 14,x identifier, and so on.

This year's iPhone 15 lineup has the following identifiers:
・‌ iPhone 15‌ - ‌iPhone 15‌,4
・ iPhone 15‌ Plus - ‌iPhone 15‌,5
・ iPhone 15 Pro - ‌iPhone 16‌,1
・ iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max - ‌iPhone 16‌,2

The Pro models with the A17 chip have 16,x identifiers; whereas, the basic models with A16 have 15,x identifiers.

If Apple continues with its current numbering scheme, all new iPhone models will likely feature the A18 chip. The first four models expected are the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The fifth model is uncertain but could potentially be the long-awaited new iPhone SE.

Apple might choose to use the same chip across all models to power the introduction of its new AI capabilities. However, it is anticipated that the Pro and Pro Max models will feature a slightly more powerful version of the chip, possibly an A18 Pro with additional GPU cores.

🔜 The iPhone 16 lineup will be unveiled at a special event in September.

✔️ The correct answer to yesterday's quiz: Swift

🧑🏻‍💻 It's a general-purpose programming language, accessible to beginners and powerful to experts. The creator of the language is Apple. According to the statements of official representatives, Swift was laid in the NeXT platform, which was released in the early 90s. The platform became the progenitor of modern iOS and macOS.

🎉 This year the language turns 10 years old! At WWDC24, a new version of Swift 6 was unveiled.

💻 It includes compatibility with C and C++, improved debugging, secure data transfer in processes, fast item processing, cloud tools, Swift Assist with AI for programming, Swift Testing for code exploration, a fresh SwiftUI, and new features in Swift Data.

📱 The new SwiftUI features based on the new Swift 6 can be seen in the presentation video that Apple published for developers. From this material, we can see what UI innovations we will soon see inside Apple's fresh systems and third-party apps. Developers will find it useful to take a closer look at the new features to enhance the capabilities of their apps.

🔜 P.S. We'll tell you about the new Swift Assist tomorrow.
