"After testing the first beta version of Apple Intelligence myself, I can tell you that the features don’t yet live up to the excitement. In their current state, they’re a far cry from the game-changing technology that fans and investors hope Apple Intelligence will become,"
reported Gurman.

📷 Apple has fixed a major flaw in iOS 18: the photo gallery is user-friendly again
In the new beta version of iOS 18, which was released last night, Apple has brought back the familiar interface of the Photos app. This comes after numerous user complaints about the inconvenient image carousel and altered album layout.
Apple heavily promoted the revamped Photos app as one of iOS 18's major innovations, saying it's "the biggest redesign yet to make it easy to find and relive special moments." However, users had a mixed reception to the changes, and the company decided to go back to the tried-and-true option.
Now in iOS 18 beta 5 for developers, users don't have to swipe down to go to the "All Photos" category. "Collections" from the main grid has been completely removed, making the app less confusing and repetitive. The order of Collections can be customized, as customization tools remain.
In addition, the "Recent Days" section once again aggregates content from "Recently Saved" as before.

Users are very excited about Safari's new "Distraction Control" feature. It will help in disabling all pop-ups and other content overlays on a web page. When selecting the feature, users will be prompted to select various elements on the web page that distract them.
Apple notes that “hiding distracting items will not permanently remove ads and other content that updates frequently,” so you won’t be able to use this feature to hide every ad you see for good.
What do you think of the new feature?

🎨 In the promo, Apple does not advertise the iPad directly, but the images clearly demonstrate the creative possibilities of the device. The illustrator of this campaign is Simon Landrein, an artist known for his unconventional style. All the images were designed with the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil Pro using Procreate.
👍 There are a total of 23 posters hanging in the two cities, each relating to one sport. The Olympic Games, which are currently taking place in the French capital, have been sponsored by Samsung for many years - thus Apple modestly reminds the competitor about itself and its products with original and beautiful advertising.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported that Apple will introduce the Mac mini desktop computer on Apple M4 by the end of this year and the novelty will get the first redesign in the history of the device.
The size of the Apple computer will approach the size of the Apple TV box, but will be taller than the last current model on the M2: its dimensions are 36 × 197 × 197 mm. The Mac mini case will still be made of aluminum.
Presumably the new Mac mini will have at least three USB-C ports and one HDMI connector. There will be two versions to choose from: with M4 or M4 Pro on board.
According to Gurman, the expected timetable for Mac presentations on the M4 is as follows:
・Fall 2024: MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini
・Spring 2025: MacBook Air
・Summer 2025: Mac Studio and Mac Pro

Previously, it was assumed that the updated tablet will be released only in 2028.
The Elec reports that Apple is going to release iPad Air with OLED display in 2026, and the main supplier of panels should be Samsung Display.
Currently, the company's only tablet with an OLED screen is the iPad Pro on M4, introduced in May 2024. The latest iPad and iPad Air still use an LCD matrix.
That said, while the company is using Tandem OLED technology in the new iPad Pro, which combines two OLED matrices at once into one for increased brightness and reduced risk of burn-in, the OLED display in the upcoming iPad Air is expected to get a more traditional solution without the Tandem OLED Display.
In addition to this, there are rumors that the upcoming iPad mini and Apple's foldable smartphone could also get an OLED screen.

This happens because AI algorithms analyze the content of emails without considering the sender's address and other important parameters.
Apple Intelligence is in beta testing. The final version of this feature should appear with iOS 18.1, tentatively in October or November 2024. This date is not relevant for iPhone users in the EU. Due to difficulties with European data protection guidelines, Apple Intelligence features will not yet be available in Europe.
Until then, Apple will make the necessary changes to the algorithms to prevent similar problems in the future.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is not only developing a cheaper version of Apple Vision Pro, but also a second-generation headset and smaller smart glasses.
Despite modest sales of the augmented reality headset, the company plans to release a cheaper version next year. It's still unclear what will be simplified in this model, but its release has already been confirmed.
Apple is also still working on a second-generation Apple Vision Pro, though the release date is unclear.
As previously reported, in addition to the two new headsets, Apple is experimenting with a Ray Ban-like smart glasses format, but without any expected release dates.

⌚ A plastic Apple Watch SE is about cutting costs and appealing to kids
Apple intends to completely revamp the low-end Watch SE. For the first time, the company will be moving this model away from aluminum and use a plastic case. In fact, this will be the first time that any Apple Watch has used a plastic shell since the initial version was introduced in 2014.
Apple is looking for ways to get the price of the SE down, so the move to plastic will lower production costs. The aluminum case for the SE costs Apple about $5 a unit. The plastic shell likely will be about half that.
Another advantage of plastic: the material allows for bolder colors than aluminum and is probably more kid-friendly. It’s no coincidence that Apple revamped its watch marketing several weeks ago to appeal to parents.
