@Jptchat Can you do a poll everyday to see how many were able to make the switch? This is so cool that you put the information out there and empowered people. The amount of innovation that will come from just that small message is going to bring amazing things!!! ❤️❤️ Empower the people to be free! ❤️🏆

I fully switched to Linux about 20 years ago. I'm very happy to see so many people today interested in making this change. Don't be discouraged!

I'm new to Linux, but am happy to help where I can. It's a learning curve, but a very fun journey

Here is a audio recording of tonight's Telegram voice call for those who were not able to be there live. Will Welker, one of our Technology chat room admins, is a North Idaho Farmer with 400 chickens, who has Linux skills that put the Silicon Valley snobs to shame. Tonight: Will & JP answered questions live from our subscribers. Eric speaks up about the chat room bot banning him, JP apologizes to Eric, and then a few people had questions about the Linux for Beginners course.

Best wishes to you, Patriots, as you set out to discover the very exciting world of Free and Open Source technology. If you, like many other Americans who love their country, are ready to leave the spying and abuses of the "big tech" Windows/MacOS/Android operating systems, Linux is Digital Freedom!

I DID IT, WOW! I downloaded Ubuntu to a flash drive, tested it, then cleared out the hard drive and installed on an HP Envy. I followed that youtube video that some of you have posted. Now I've got telegram installed, the wifi works, I'm so excited. Took all night! Now for some experimenting! Maybe after a nap.

Hey all, first of all you guys are brilliant and it’s awesome to see the “the great tech escape” live and in action 😂
I’m installing linux on a 2009 iMac and I downloaded etcher but it wanted a later os than my iMac has. Downloading 10.11 now but is there something other than etcher that is recommended to flash os images?

Loving this telegram channel. Awesome job.

My 2 cents. I used to System Admin using Ubuntu. Highly recommend Linux to everyone, very powerful and so many benefits. My job now requires Windows... And it honestly sucks going from Linux to windows. Windows is incredibly overrated.

I’m so confused! Linux the versus Ubuntu vs mint. Someone please clarify!
Forwarded from Will Welker
They are very similar. Mint is actually based on Ubuntu but made to be a little more user friendly. Either way you won't go wrong and it is easy to change if you ever want to.

Linux has multiple distributions.

What is a distribution?
Think version...
Windows home
Windows pro
Windows Enterprise
Etc

However it's not really that simple.
Each distribution of Linux is tailored to fit or meet a specific set of needs or functions. There are distributions of Linux for students, for entrepreneurs, for developers, for web design, for simple home users, for audio production, for photo design, the list goes on.

Distrowatch is a common website that most people should visit first when trying to choose what distribution of Linux they may think fits their needs. The website will give you a lot of information possibly more than you want and it will also provide user reviews of others possibly in your same situation looking for something to start off with or that is easy to use.

Most newcomers are going to start with Ubuntu or Linux Mint. Of all the distributions Ubuntu has the most fame because of its development base. It's been developed for a long time and marketed more so than any other distribution out there. The Ubuntu phone was the first phone with a Linux operating system to my knowledge.

Can people who don't know much about computers do this? I want to be free of the cabal.

On the pine phone...I hear it's 'rough' compared to other smart phones...exactly what does that mean? Feature rough?
