Question about Walt

Exactly what was his power? He seemed to know his Mom was sick/dying and the birds slaming into the window. He could also project himself? Ben's crew was very interested in him to the point they kidnapped him but then it seems the plotline was just dropped. And since he's in the flash forewards but not at the church with everyone is he still alive? I finished my first watch awhile ago and still have so many questions.

Every time Charlie tries to do something I start sweating

This man is a walking, breathing liability. I've only finished one season, but he's the only character who swears he's competent at doing something then proceeds to make it 10 times worse.

How the HELL did you not see that Rousseau coming in with the "Get Sayid, PLEASE!" shit was an obvious trap? And then you left the woman with a baby there instead of just telling Rousseau where he was or, IDK, telling her to piss off bc you're guarding Claire. THEN, you blame Sayid for it saying things would have been different if he gave you a gun, when let's be real your dumbass would probably have just tripped on it and it would have gone off and shot you in the leg😂😂

Oh and let's not forget falling for the obvious trap of the baby face down on top of a blade of grass NOT crying, like bffr man you're an idiot!

This man is crazy, yo. He is basically a toddler in a grown man's body and I'm sure he'll get someone killed down the line.

5x12 Dead is Dead - massive insight on rewatch!

I was rewatching some episodes following TheLexiCrowd’s reactions, and something in Season 5 Episode 12 finally clicked for me.

In this episode we see more of Ben’s past on the island and his conflict with Widmore. It all starts when Ben kidnaps baby Alex under Widmore/Jacob’s orders. Widmore insists Alex should be killed, but Ben refuses.

I always read that moment simply as “Widmore wanted her dead, Jacob didn’t.” I never thought Alex’s death had any major significance for the larger mythology. But, considering the ending of the episode — and what we learn in Season 6 — it suddenly makes perfect sense.

From a purely technical, amoral point of view, Alex should have been killed.

Here’s why:
The Smoke Monster (in Locke’s form) later uses Alex’s image to manipulate Ben in the underground temple. “You will follow Locke’s orders and do everything he says.”
MiB exploits Ben’s love for Alex and the guilt he carries about letting her die. Those emotions are the lever he needed for his loophole — the chain of events that leads Ben to kill Jacob.

So the fact that Ben raised Alex as his daughter… and then became responsible for her death… wasn’t random tragedy. It created the perfect weakness MiB needed to break the rules, kill Jacob, and nearly destroy the world.

This show fucking rules!!
