🔸Why are convolutional neural networks better than other neural networks in processing data such as images and video?🔸

The reason why Convolutional Neural Networks (#CNNs) do so much better than classic neural networks on images and videos is that the convolutional layers take advantage of inherent properties of images.

♦️1 Convolutions
- Simple feedforward neural networks don’t see any order in their inputs. If you shuffled all your images in the same way, the neural network would have the very same performance it has when trained on not shuffled images.
- CNN, in opposition, take advantage of local spatial coherence of images. This means that they are able to reduce dramatically the number of operation needed to process an image by using convolution on patches of adjacent pixels, because adjacent pixels together are meaningful. We also call that local connectivity. Each map is then filled with the result of the convolution of a small patch of pixels, slid with a window over the whole image.

♦️2 Pooling layers
a)There are also the pooling layers, which downscale the image. This is possible because we retain throughout the network, features that are organized spatially like an image, and thus downscaling them makes sense as reducing the size of the image. On classic inputs you cannot downscale a vector, as there is no coherence between an input and the one next to it.

🔸What Will Happen If the Learning Rate Is Set Too Low or Too High?🔸

♦️- When your learning rate is too low, training of the model will progress very slowly as we are making minimal updates to the weights. It will take many updates before reaching the minimum point.
♦️-If the learning rate is set too high, this causes undesirable divergent behavior to the loss function due to drastic updates in weights. It may fail to converge (model can give a good output) or even diverge (data is too chaotic for the network to train).

🔸What Is Dropout and Batch Normalization?🔸

🔻Dropout: is a technique of dropping out hidden and visible units of a network randomly to prevent overfitting of data (typically dropping 20 percent of the nodes). It doubles the number of iterations needed to converge the network.
🔺Batch normalization: is the technique to improve the performance and stability of neural networks by normalizing the inputs in every layer so that they have mean output activation of zero and standard deviation of one.

🔻The process of standardizing and reforming data is called “Data Normalization.” It’s a pre-processing step to eliminate data redundancy. ♦️Loss function is a method of evaluating “how well your algorithm models your dataset”. If your predictions are totally off, your loss function will output a higher number. If they’re pretty good, it’ll output a lower number.
