Ex-Slovak PM faces criminal case over ‘treasonous’ Ukraine MiG-29 transfer

State Secretary of the Defense Ministry Igor Meliher confirmed a criminal case will be opened Friday against former Prime Minister Eduard Heger due to the transfer of the MiG-29 and the Kub air defense system to Ukraine in March 2023.

The Slovak Ministry of Defense had previously said it hadn’t found a document that would justify the legality of the transfer rubber-stamped by the previous leadership.

Current Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad called the actions of his predecessors high treason and promised to file a complaint with law enforcement agencies.

"The Ministry of Defense files a criminal complaint against Eduard Heger and Jaroslav Naď for donating MiG-29 fighters and parts of the Kub air defense system to Ukraine in March 2023 during the mandate of the temporarily appointed Heger government.
State Secretary Igor Melicher said that the criminal complaint relates to the suspicion of committing sabotage, abuse of authority of a public official and breach of duty in the management of foreign property.
He called the move of Heger's cabinet unconstitutional, as well as contrary to the contractual provisions concerning military equipment. "After this decision, the sky was left unprotected and the citizens at risk," he declared.
Melicher reiterated that there is no official legal analysis authorizing the handing over of military equipment to the cabinet on temporary assignment. According to him, the materials presented by ex-minister Naď did not meet the attributes of an official document, duly registered in the ministry's agenda"

Chinese state-owned planemaker COMAC could break Airbus and Boeing's duopoly in the passenger jet market over the next decade, according to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise's chief.

COMAC's planes primarily fly within China and with one Indonesian airline, but the company is seeking certification from Europe's aviation regulator and looking for international customers. This development comes as Airbus struggles with production and Boeing faces regulatory scrutiny after a panel blowout on a new plane in January.

▪️The entire point of Israel's existence in its current form is as a military forward operating base of US hegemony in the Middle East;
