Ukraine's public debt has exceeded UAH 9 trillion, reached 98,4% of GDP.
As of December 31, 2025, the total volume of public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 9,042.7 billion, or $213.3 billion, up 29.5% compared with the end of 2024.
By the end of 2025, approximately 75% of Ukraine’s debt was external. More than half of these liabilities are owed to the European Union, accounting for approximately 40% of total public debt. The share of commercial external debt has decreased to less than 10%.

Estonia detained the cargo vessel "Baltic Spirit", sailing under the Bahamian flag near Naissaar, an island on Estonia's north coast.
The ship was traveling from Ecuador to St. Petersburg, Russia, when it was stopped.
The vessel is not part of the Russian "shadow fleet" nor is it subject to European Union sanctions.
The "Baltic Spirit" has a 23-member crew and all were citizens of the Russian Federation.
Asked if it was suspected that drugs were on the container vessel, Aas (Head of the K-Commando unit) said the investigation would clarify the details.
