🇺🇸Trump's 'crusader' Pete Hegseth has been sworn in as the new Pentagon chief.

In a brief speech, he outlined his "guiding principles": "Restore the military spirit in everything we do, rebuild our military and restore deterrence."

"We don't want to fight wars. We want to contain them... And we want to end them responsibly. But if we have to fight them, we will show overwhelming and decisive force to close in on the enemy, destroy them, and bring our boys home," Hegseth said.

Turning to Trump, he said he looked to him for support "in achieving peace through strength, in putting America first."
