Updates
After a successful network upgrade the devs are continuing to work on making the new wallets work on the updated network.
The adoption of a new difficulty adjustment algorithm as well as the fixed replay protection are vital entries to keep the network safe and for transactions to be more secure.

Wallets
The Web Wallet will probably be the first release as it can be used in the internet browser (also on both iOS and Android).
As for Android and iOS wallets, they will be available for download from the respective appstores after their approval from Google and Apple.
If devs can make it possible, the APK and iOS install files may be available as well but it would be cool if it's on the appstores 😎

Block Reward Halving
Following up, we'd like to update everyone on the halving situation. MicroBitcoin being a hard fork has inherited Bitcoin core's halving intervals which occurs every 210,000 blocks. In order to match MicroBitcoin's 1 block per minute, the interval will be prolonged by 10 folds AFTER the next halving period, which is at block height 630,000. The reward will also be halved from 12,500 to 6,250 MBC per block.
The halving estimated date is 16 October 2018, and after that the intervals will be every 2,100,000 blocks which will be at block height 2,730,000.

Max and Circulating Supply
The explorer has been updated to include the Max and Circulating supply of MicroBitcoin.

MBC Halving
The halving estimated date is 16 October 2018.
Intervals will be every 2,100,000 blocks which means that the next halving after this will be at block height 2,730,000.
Rewards will half from 12,500 to 6,250 per block.
Development News

With the network upgrade proceeding well, other devs have found and added MicroBitcoin to their repositories. Folks over at "bitcoin_fork_claimer" have added support for MBC! Big thanks to them for the addition!
If you're a developer or an exchange this tool is probably something you'd like to use, check them out here:

Halving Update

Fellow community members, we'd like to make amends to the recent announcement regarding the height number at which the next mining reward halving will take place.
The next mining reward halving will occur at Block Height 1,574,991 instead of the previous mention of 630,000.
The calculation was done again after reviews and had shown to be at the height of 1,574,991 instead.
We apologize for the previous announcement regarding this matter.
A quick dive into what MicroBitcoin is for those that still haven't grasped the bigger picture 😉

Definitions
Protocol: a set of rules governing the exchange or transmission of data between devices.
Application: a program or piece of software designed and written to fulfill a particular purpose of the user.

MicroBitcoin is a protocol that has its own set of rules to fit in such a way that transactions can suffice in the micro-economy.
Wallets, Explorers, and Address Converters are applications that help a user interact with peers on the network using the MicroBitcoin protocol.

In plain simple English, email is like a protocol and we use applications like Gmail to send them.

Protocol is not Application. Many make the mistake of understanding the underlying definition and think that both are the same. Infact, MicroBitcoin is an implementation of the Bitcoin protocol, so is Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. Ivan on Tech explains it really well in his recent video here 👉 <https://youtu.be/1GQPc3BtiJ8> 👈

Progress & Updates
It has been a while since we made an official announcement regarding the development and progress of updates that are to come.

Core
Developing on technology that is still in the early states if not of an easy task, however, developers are managing to provide updates to provide a better and more efficient protocol for payments.
In light to the above statement, we'd like to ask the community to acknowledge @iamstenman for contribution to the next release of the LWMA3 algorithm for difficulty adjustment as this update will possibly (maybe eventually) be implemented in other cryptocurrency projects. For more details on this see <https://github.com/zawy12/difficulty-algorithms/issues/3> and <https://github.com/MicroBitcoinOrg/MicroBitcoin/commit/76c0cfc43b2c5109c0d1e52dee1cefa4e002d9c1>

Please note, development updates have moved to <https://mbc.wiki/>

Wallets
The team has been pushing the stores for listing, however, so far Google Play Store is the only one that has been friendly. Apple Appstore seems to difficult to list as they have declined individual developer listings relating to cryptocurrencies. If anyone from the community may be able to assist and provide access for listing please reach out to any of the devs.
In the mean time, the team and community members have reached out to wallet providers for addition of MicroBitcoin in their wallets, i.e. Coinomi and Ledger.
The more requests we can ask, the better chance we have that they consider 😎
Troubleshooting
There have been some issues, possibly, and the fixes are underway. Please see #android-wallet-guide (Discord channel) for details to how you can backup your wallet and then restore it in the newer versions. Here are some tips to troubleshoot:
- Check if your seed phrase is correct BEFORE you uninstall the app
- If your balance isn't showing, try closing the app and opening it again (the devs are currently working to make it better)
- Check if your address has balance using the block explorer 👉 <https://microbitcoinorg.github.io/explorer>
- Check the transaction history of your address in the block explorer (the blockchain is very difficult to hack, it's easier to hack the person)
- Use the Mnemonic converter <https://microbitcoinorg.github.io/mnemonic> to get list of addresses and private keys of your wallet (can be used to verify your wallet address)

Hello fellow members.
There have been some issues and it has been difficult for devs to track down the problem for some of them.
We've made a feedback form for the current ANDROID WALLET.

Feedback form: https://goo.gl/forms/MHsKxWVdGLsev4eH2

Please read the enclosed instructions and fill it out with as much detail as possible so that the devs know what the exact problem is.
