Money quote: "One of the points Allison made repeatedly on that call (and in this wonderful blog post of the same time period) was that the camera is going to be at the center of computing going forward, an indispensable element. Spatial computing could not exist without it. Simple, obvious, straightforward, but not earth shaking. We all heard what she had to say, but I don’t think any of us really understood just how profound or prophetic that statement turned out to be."

Money quote: "A useless day, the writer tells themselves. No money earned. Nothing accomplished. They fear pitching that same editor again so quickly because two declines in a row would really fuck with their self worth. So they wait, trying to think of another idea for a story. A shittier one perhaps? With more obvious potential to be clickable? They read what’s having success on a number of sites they’d like to pitch to see where the editorial vision is pointing at the moment. It very well may not be where it was yesterday. At no point in the hours entailed here is the writer being paid, nor is there any guarantee they ever will be."

Money quote: "There is nothing wrong with wanting to turn your passion in to a successful career. But if all you’re doing it for is because of the money, maybe money is your passion. I would write for free, I think most creators love what they do so much that they are doing exactly that with a job to support themselves and their families. Writing is what I love to do, I write for most of my life and most of the time its free. I don’t get paid to edit my novel or write short stories. I write for the pleasure of writing, because the world is calmer and bigger when I finish a project. Any creator who must be paid to create is not in the business of creating, they are in the business of money making. What ever you do with your life, make sure it’s what you want, make sure it’s a dream rather than a harsh reality."

Money quote: "We think that our actions are like a blaring siren to those around us, that everyone within earshot will stop what they’re doing and pay attention to our idea or our work. The reality, however, isn’t nearly as distressing as we think. People aren’t paying as much attention to us as we think - and that’s a good thing."

Money quote: “The ex-Senator told Politico that, despite his registration, he wouldn’t actually be lobbying for the firm. Rather, he hoped to “raise the level of trust in ZTE.” Lieberman certainly should understand the trust deficit the company faces. In 2010, he signed a letter saying ZTE and another Chinese telecom company, Huawei, could threaten American national security.”

«A casa mia a Milano, fino a ore tarde.

Money quote :"When we’re children, we have very little concept of time. It’s there — we measure it on our watches and calendars, and it’s apparently something we can run out of, if we’re not careful. This rudimentary back-of-the-envelope denoscriptor still holds some water.

But, as we get older, we begin to develop an understanding of what time means. It’s a linear equation with no reversal. It’s a one way street where you can never speed up or slow down, only change your perception of how fast you’re moving based upon how much attention you’ve been paying and how much you’re soaking up every radiant glow of the setting sun. Life’s a golden hour that lasts forever, and most of the pictures still don’t turn out quite right."
