De overheid trok in 2021 bijna 6 miljard euro uit om corona-achterstanden in het basis- en middelbaar onderwijs terug te dringen. De Algemene Rekenkamer waarschuwde meermaals dat de regeling te vaag was, maar het ministerie maakte het geld toch over. Drie jaar later is nauwelijks te achterhalen waar de miljarden zijn gebleven, maar een ding is duidelijk: commerciële onderwijsaanbieders hebben flink geprofiteerd.

In de buurt van brandnetels staan vaak planten als de weegbree en hondsdraf. Als je van deze plant een blad kneust en over de jeukende plek wrijft, zal dit verlichting geven.

Zo is het met alle uitdagingen. Steun en uitdaging gaan immers hand in hand en zorgen voor groei. Zie je meer steun dan uitdaging, dan stagneert je groei (we worden dan lui en verwend). Zie je meer uitdaging dan steun, dan stagneert je groei (we raken dan uitgeput en gestresst).

Basisschool maakt een 180 graden draai, weg van digitalisering.

In Zweden zijn laptops zelfs helemaal niet meer welkom in het klaslokaal.

Soms schiet (veronderstelde) innovatie het doel voorbij. Blijkt het een negatief effect te hebben en blijkt alle intelligentie kunstmatig te worden.

De basisschool zag de taal- en rekenresultaten over een aantal jaar kelderen! Inmiddels geven ze weer "gewoon" les:
-Sterk team van onderwijsprofessionals
-Genoeg beweging
-Schriften en boeken
Het onderwijs op deze school zit nu, met een positief inspectierapport, weer in de lift.

In 2012 ging ik naar een concert van John Butler Trio in Queenstown. De tekst van dit specifieke nummer resoneerde met mij en ik denk dat deze nu nog toepasselijker is...
