Samenvatting
De landelijke vaccinatiegraad onder jonge kinderen is de afgelopen jaren gedaald. Dit leidt tot maatschappelijke en politieke discussies, onder meer over een eventuele verplichting tot vaccinatie in de kinderopvang. De Commissie kinderopvang en vaccinatie adviseerde tot verplichting over te gaan als de vaccinatiegraad is gedaald tot een vooraf bepaalde ondergrens, door de overheid vast te stellen. Een vaak aangehaalde ondergrens is 95%. De gedachte hierachter is het concept van de kritische vaccinatiegraad, een grenswaarde die nodig is voor de eliminatie van een infectie in een grote, goed gemengde populatie. In dit artikel beargumenteren we waarom de kritische vaccinatiegraad geen wetenschappelijke basis biedt voor een ondergrens aan de landelijke vaccinatiegraad.

Uit de conclusie:

Vooraanstaande Harvard-hoogleraar Kulldorff ontslagen vanwege zijn afwijkende mening

Hieronder het relaas van dr. Martin Kulldorff, de uit Zweden afkomstige biostatisticus en epidemioloog, van 2003 – 2024 hoogleraar geneeskunde aan Harvard Medical School.
In de coronaperiode drong hij aan op een zuiver wetenschappelijk opstelling en werd daarmee niet alleen criticus van de maatregelen zoals de schoolsluitingen en de lockdowns, maar ook van de verplichte vaccinaties: hij pleitte namelijk voor ‘focused protection’ van de risicogroepen in plaats van verplichte vaccinatie voor iedereen. Dit kostte hem uiteindelijk zijn hoogleraarschap aan Harvard. In een brief beschrijft hij hoe het zover heeft kunnen komen, met een hartstochtelijk beroep op het motto van Harvard: Veritas, waarheid.

Het kabinet is niet van plan om ouders te dwingen hun kinderen te laten vaccineren.
