Sommige nummers zijn theme songs for life. Dit lied maakte bijvoorbeeld lang geleden (1985) indruk en was in de coronatijd de inspiratie voor mij om Stef Bos en Ernst Jansz te benaderen voor een een Vrouwen voor Vrijheid podium, wat uiteindelijk werkelijkheid werd in april 2023.
Zojuist in de auto kwam hij weer binnen, dit lied, maar anders deze keer. Wie mij goed kent, weet dat ik de afgelopen tien jaar met een wat je noemt ‘karmische relatie’ te maken heb gehad. Oud zeer op elkaar botvieren en er meer van creëren, zoiets. Je kan alle kennis in huis hebben om het te beteugelen maar er kan niks op tegen praktijk ervaring, het werkelijk toepassen van wat je weet. Niet meer mee doen. Break the cycle.
Al die jaren wist ik natuurlijk al dat ik naar mezelf zat te kijken, we zijn immers elkaars spiegels. Wist ik dat we in feite oorlog met onszelf maken als we een ander geweld aan doen etc.
Vandaag, nu ik nog meer de observator van slinkse uithalen kan zijn, komen de woorden toch weer anders binnen.
