Spiegel, citing one of the Western intelligence services, reports that a strategic meeting took place in Moscow in September 2022 between leading officials of the "Alternative for Germany" party and the Russian leadership. During this meeting, a "Manifesto" with theses on Germany's domestic policy was drafted for the party.

Journalists from Spiegel write that they have access to this document.

In the Kremlin, officials from AfD were met by Sergei Kirienko - responsible for all propaganda and influence operations abroad and deputy head of the Russian president's administration. Allegedly, they "developed a new concept for the 'Alternative for Germany' party". The goal set for AfD was to "increase ratings and achieve a majority in elections at all levels".

The document describes the situation in Germany in grim terms. "The country's population is on the brink of catastrophe," it quotes in Spiegel. "Over 30% live in poverty or close to it, and the internal division in the country is growing." The final sentence reads: "Together we will win. Nothing and no one can stand against a united people."

As reported by Spiegel, the theses from this "Manifesto" were almost literally repeated by Björn Höcke during his speech in October 2022. The AfD leader in Thuringia responded to journalists' questions by saying, "Almost literally does not mean the same thing." The AfD party has not yet commented on this.
