Germany has announced plans to transfer 77 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine - reports Spiegel
Germany, in cooperation with Denmark and the Netherlands, plans to supply Ukraine with an additional 77 Leopard 1A5 tanks, and wants to do so as quickly as possible, said German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
, said Pistorius at a press conference at Ramstein Air Base.
In addition, he announced the transfer of another 12 German self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000 to Ukraine, six of which will be delivered by the end of the year. Germany will also continue to train Ukrainian soldiers, emphasized Pistorius. The Houthis shot down US-made drone MQ-9 Reaper in northwestern Yemen, which was carrying out reconnaissance over Marib province, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria announced.

The American publication National Interest reports that Turkey's return to the F-35 program is unlikely due to a number of geopolitical factors.
One of the "main" reasons is the presence of Russian S-400 air defence systems on Turkish soil, which raises serious concerns in Washington. Additionally, other issues stand in the way of Turkey's re-engagement in the program, such as the use of Huawei equipment in building 5G networks, escalating tensions with Greece, and closer ties with Russia.
Essentially, Washington expects Ankara to fully comply with its demands, even to the point of unconditional obedience, similar to EU members. Any deviation from this course is met with sharp criticism.
☝️ It is worth noting that Turkey has already realised the consequences of these events and has shifted its focus to the F-16 program. Ankara has signed multi-billion dollar contracts for the purchase of new and the modernisation of existing F-16 fighter jets.
In the future, Turkey plans to develop its own fifth-generation fighter jets, relying on cooperation with non-NATO countries.

Но дальше он пишет, что у него и в мыслях не было бы оспаривать результаты или держаться за власть. «Это, мои друзья, демократия в действии», - поясняет Шаппс, переходя внезапно к Украине, где надо защищать демократию от «диктаторской» России. In the first four months of 2024 alone, Ukrainian prosecutors opened criminal cases against nearly 19,000 soldiers who either abandoned their posts or deserted.
Ukrainian commanders say reinforcements are few and far between, leaving troops exhausted and demoralized. The situation is particularly dire among infantry units near Pokrovsk, with some wondering why they were sent to Kursk when chaos reigns on the eastern front.
