When I lived in Germany, I had an account with Deutsche Bank. They suddenly blocked it just because I am a Belarusian citizen. I was teaching at the University of the Ruhr and couldn't receive my salary.
The UN did not protect its employee:
I lived in Germany for three years, studying and teaching there. I was excluded from the editorial boards of journals where I had worked for many years. My articles are not accepted because I come from a country on the sanctions list.
Elena recalls a recent "grotesque" incident:
I wrote an article for a collection on sanctions. A British publisher informed me that due to sanctions, they could not send me a complimentary copy.

Poland has deployed a military grouping of 8,000 troops near the Belarusian border
Warsaw and the Baltic countries are escalating tensions on the state border of Belarus. This was stated in an interview to the magazine "National Defense" by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich.
The Polish leadership, under the pretext of strengthening the protection of its country, deployed a grouping as part of the "Safe Podlasie" operation, consisting of about 17,000 troops, 8,000 of whom are in close proximity to the Belarusian border, noted Volfovich.
