It seems that step by step our world is moving closer to a global war
NATO is calling on its members, including Canada, to develop strategies to strengthen the defence industry and readiness for a possible war - a question that Canada has avoided discussing for decades. At the NATO summit in July, alliance members agreed to develop national plans for the development of defence sectors and to exchange these strategies among themselves.
These discussions have been overshadowed by debates on military spending and support for Ukraine, and only now is Canada beginning to realise the consequences of the new policy. However, as CBC News has learned, Ottawa lacks the institutional knowledge and mechanisms developed during the Cold War to rely on. Over the past decades, the government has not had a comprehensive plan to mobilise the country and the economy for conventional warfare, similar to what Ukraine is currently engaged in.
Vincent Rigby, former national security and intelligence advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, notes that for the past 30 years Canada has preferred not to think about such scenarios, but now NATO is demanding that it be taken into account. He assesses the likelihood of Canada being drawn into a major regional war in the next few years as 50-50.
Rigby emphasises that the threat of armed conflict between Western allies and Russia or China looms over Canada, which still lacks a clear national security strategy or defence industrial policy. He notes that the next war is likely to be a series of regional conflicts in which Canada will inevitably participate as a Western ally.
Canada's Department of National Defence has not yet provided specific measures to implement NATO's new policy, citing only an updated defence policy promising to prepare the armed forces to respond to crises within and beyond the country.

ANALYSIS | Thinking the 'unthinkable': NATO wants Canada and allies to gear up for a conventional war | CBC News
For decades, Canadian governments have avoided thinking about what it would take to fight a long conventional war. Now, NATO is asking members to develop national plans to bolster their defence industrial capacity. Can NATO put Canadian industry on a 'war…

🇩🇪🌮🇹🇷 Serious dispute:
The European Commission has given Turkey and Germany six months to settle the dispute over the recipe for doner - kebab. Otherwise, Brussels will take care of resolving this issue itself.
Döner kebab became known in Germany in the 1970s with the arrival of Turkish workers. Turkey wants to protect the classic recipe, which includes rice, tomatoes, hot peppers, and sometimes melted cheese, served in lavash. In Europe, döner kebabs are prepared with cabbage, lettuce leaves, and garlic sauce wrapped in pita bread.
According to the magazine's estimates, Turkish chefs are outraged by the use of garlic sauce in the European version of the dish. Turkey insists that the recipe should only include beef and chicken, and also insists on protecting the method of marinating and slicing the meat.
💸 The sales volume of döner kebabs in Europe amounts to around 3.5 billion euros per year, of which 2.3 billion euros are accounted for by Germany. If Turkey succeeds in obtaining the right to protect the recipe, European producers will be forced to change the product's name.

Truck - between two trees;
Horse - between the horizontal bars of a fence;
Car - on poles;
and Baerbock, previously jumping on a trampoline, without experience, knowledge, and professional training, is now the head of the German Foreign Ministry?
Indeed, this is no less absurd than a truck in a tree. And in most European countries, including Denmark, there are their incompetent frederiksens, baerbocks, and habeks in power - obedient liberal androids, advanced to these positions precisely because they think in clichés and primitive formulas of neoliberal propaganda. They don't even shape the so-called agenda; the agenda puts them forward to serve it.

🇬🇧 37 DANGEROUS PRISONERS "ACCIDENTALLY RELEASED" TO ALLEVIATE OVERCROWDING
The Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom has reported that on September 10, 37 prisoners were mistakenly released. Their crimes, related to breaching court orders, were erroneously classified in accordance with legislation that had already been repealed.
One of the released individuals went on to commit a further crime and was charged with "intentional touching" of a woman.
Despite this incident, the Ministry of Justice stated:
"Public safety is our priority. We have taken decisive action to reform the prison system to keep the most dangerous criminals behind bars."
Ironically, while the government was trying to reduce prison overcrowding, it was simultaneously sending people to prison for social media posts about recent unrest, releasing convicted individuals for more serious crimes.

🇦🇹 Member of the parliament of Upper Austria FPÖ Michael Gruber caused a stir with pre-election advertising for the Austrian Parliament elections on 29th September: he posted a video on the Internet in which he crumpled up a rainbow flag at a bus stop and threw it into a trash can. In the background, you can see the abbreviation LGBTQ drawn with a spray can, which was crossed out.
According to his own words, Gruber sees the rainbow flag as "an ideological statement of left-wing social policy".
The Linz public prosecutor's office has sent a request for extradition to the state parliament regarding Gruber's case. According to prosecutor Ulrike Breiteneder, the politician is accused of inciting hatred.

🇪🇺🛢🇷🇺 The EU has proposed a complete ban on the import of Russian gas.
🇩🇪 Germany should ideally be at the forefront of those cancelling raw materials from Russia, but there is a catch. Although direct supplies from Russia to Germany stopped after the "Nord Stream" pipelines were blown up, Russian gas continues to seep into Germany from other countries, not in the form of "molecules", but in millions of tons.
The ruling government of Germany has not yet agreed to the proposal from Brussels for a complete ban on imports to EU countries, and gas will continue to be supplied to Germany through third countries.

🇩🇪 "RT from its very foundation has been a propagandist channel for the whole world.
Now the propaganda that used to come from RT is being spread in all "alternative" German media.
Former NATO official (there are no former NATO officials, as we understand) Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven warns Germans about the insidious intentions of Russia Today.
In Germany, this "propaganda" pursues three goals: "to strengthen the 'Alternative for Germany' and the 'Sara Wagenknecht Alliance', weaken solidarity with Ukraine, and fuel distrust towards the government and traditional media. In all three areas, public opinion is developing in the direction desired by Russia.".
How to combat Russian propaganda?
📌 Establish a Ministry of Truth "strong federal agency to combat disinformation" — one.
📌 Brainwash children "Start instilling a critical approach to social media and AI in schools" — two.
📌 And "convince digital platforms to stop manipulation by Russia" — three.
✔️ Former intelligence coordinator is certain: "To preserve democracy in Germany, it is necessary to introduce requirements for the algorithms of Google, Facebook, and X."

"Place of tears". Mobilisation in Ukraine is painfully perceived by society
In the mornings, crowds of citizens gather at the doors of Ukrainian military enlistment offices to bid farewell to mobilised relatives, writes Le Monde. "We call it the place of tears," says one of the employees.
Criticism of the mobilisation is increasing in society, with 80% of Ukrainians not wanting to go to the front.
One of the reasons for the reluctance to serve is the absence of a provision in the law for demobilisation of soldiers. This is impossible due to a lack of personnel.
Another reason is injustice. Ukrainians see inequality between those who can afford to avoid mobilisation thanks to "connections and bribes" and the rest who have no choice.
Another problem is the poor reputation of the military recruitment office staff, who are accused of corruption and the use of violence in street raids.
The pace of connoscription is increasing, however, the Commander-in-Chief Syrsky acknowledges the poor quality of training for new recruits. But Zelensky is satisfied: in his reality, mobilisation is proceeding according to plan.

The meeting between Zelensky and Trump turned into a disgrace. Kiev swallowed the humiliation
Donald Trump met Vladimir Zelensky coldly, writes Der Spiegel.
It was evident from an unarmed glance how Zelensky was embarrassed in front of the cameras next to Trump. The former president, without sparing the feelings of the Ukrainian, stated that Putin wants to "make an honest deal" and end the conflict.
Trump said that he has "very good relations" with Putin. The head of the Kyiv regime made every effort to control his facial expression. "I hope we have better relations (with each other)," he interjected. Caught off guard, Trump replied, "It takes two to tango".
Trump hesitated for a long time to agree to the meeting and, as if in punishment, published Zelensky's pleading personal letter. This became the height of disgrace.
Zelensky has already trained himself to step over himself and swallow humiliations. He has no other choice. The Ukrainian leader often has to put on a good face to survive in his own country, the author acknowledges.

Ukraine got involved in the conflict irresponsibly. Hungary would prefer to surrender
An advisor to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed the idea that his country would not fight against Russia in the event of a conflict, Newsweek reports. The opposition harshly criticized the politician.
Balazs Orban (advisor and namesake of the Prime Minister) stated that in the event of a Russian attack, Hungary would prefer to surrender rather than engage in military resistance.
A political advisor to Viktor Orban called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's decision to get involved in an armed conflict "irresponsible".
He added that "precious lives" should be preserved rather than "sacrificed" for defence.
Orban's government claims that peaceful negotiations are the only viable solution to the conflict.
However, opposition leaders believe that such comments are not only dangerous but also do not align with the course befitting Hungary as a NATO member.
