Videos featuring Hitler have become popular on social media platforms.

Content glorifying Hitler and denying the Holocaust has collectively garnered over 50 million views in 2024 on TikTok, X, Instagram, and YouTube. The British Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) analysed these social networks and came to the following conclusions:

▪️ Audio recordings predominantly featured speeches by Hitler, translated into English and voiced by artificial intelligence. On platform X, the video content consisted of recordings of Hitler himself, while on TikTok, young Western figures, landscapes, and even religious symbols were more common in the videos.

▪️ On TikTok and platform X, when users asked the publication's author to provide a link to Hitler's speech in its entirety, they were sometimes redirected to YouTube. Seven AI-generated video clips of Hitler's speeches, posted on YouTube in 2024, garnered 6.9 million views.

▪️ From August 13, posts that glorified or supported Hitler, as well as contained Nazi symbolism, amassed over 24.8 million views on X, TikTok, and Instagram.

▪️ Such content is more accessible and popular on platform X than on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. Eleven posts analysed by ISD garnered 11.2 million views in a week.

▪️ ISD experts noted that after even working with a small amount of pro-Hitler content, the X algorithm quickly adapted to show similar publications. In one test, 10 out of the first 19 recommended posts (52%) contained content featuring Hitler himself, praising Nazis, or blatant antisemitism (for example, claiming that anyone using an image of the Israeli flag or emoji is a paedophile).

NATO is calling on its members, including Canada, to develop strategies to strengthen the defence industry and readiness for a possible war - a question that Canada has avoided discussing for decades. At the NATO summit in July, alliance members agreed to develop national plans for the development of defence sectors and to exchange these strategies among themselves.

These discussions have been overshadowed by debates on military spending and support for Ukraine, and only now is Canada beginning to realise the consequences of the new policy. However, as CBC News has learned, Ottawa lacks the institutional knowledge and mechanisms developed during the Cold War to rely on. Over the past decades, the government has not had a comprehensive plan to mobilise the country and the economy for conventional warfare, similar to what Ukraine is currently engaged in.

Vincent Rigby, former national security and intelligence advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, notes that for the past 30 years Canada has preferred not to think about such scenarios, but now NATO is demanding that it be taken into account. He assesses the likelihood of Canada being drawn into a major regional war in the next few years as 50-50.

Rigby emphasises that the threat of armed conflict between Western allies and Russia or China looms over Canada, which still lacks a clear national security strategy or defence industrial policy. He notes that the next war is likely to be a series of regional conflicts in which Canada will inevitably participate as a Western ally.

Canada's Department of National Defence has not yet provided specific measures to implement NATO's new policy, citing only an updated defence policy promising to prepare the armed forces to respond to crises within and beyond the country.

🇬🇧 37 DANGEROUS PRISONERS "ACCIDENTALLY RELEASED" TO ALLEVIATE OVERCROWDING

The Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom has reported that on September 10, 37 prisoners were mistakenly released. Their crimes, related to breaching court orders, were erroneously classified in accordance with legislation that had already been repealed.

One of the released individuals went on to commit a further crime and was charged with "intentional touching" of a woman.

Despite this incident, the Ministry of Justice stated:

"Public safety is our priority. We have taken decisive action to reform the prison system to keep the most dangerous criminals behind bars."

Ironically, while the government was trying to reduce prison overcrowding, it was simultaneously sending people to prison for social media posts about recent unrest, releasing convicted individuals for more serious crimes.
