Norway will not provide asylum to refugees from the western regions of Ukraine
Ukrainian refugees from the western regions will no longer be able to enter the EU country. All those who have already arrived in Norway and received shelter there will be able to stay. According to data for the current year, one in ten refugees from Ukraine is a resident of the western regions, where there are no threats to their lives.
Back in September, Norwegian authorities deemed six regions of Ukraine safe and stated that they would not automatically grant asylum to Ukrainians arriving from there. So far, the Norwegian authorities have listed these regions of Ukraine as safe: Lvov, Volyn, Transcarpathia, Ivano-Frankovsk, Ternopol, and Rovno.
