According to him, a significant portion of the 2.4 million residents of Gaza has already had to leave their homes since the outbreak of the war following Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

"Almost everything there is destroyed, and people continue to die," Trump said, commenting on the situation in the Gaza Strip. "That’s why I want to work with the Arab countries to create housing elsewhere where they can live in peace," he added.

Trump's proposal received mixed reactions. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called it "a great idea," while Hamas categorically rejected the plan.
