Good morning, dear subscribers!😊☕️

A long time ago, Sevastopol was closed to ordinary Soviet citizens. To get here, one needed either a registration or a special permit. However, there was a place that even most residents of Sevastopol could not access. It was located in Balaklava.

Here, in Mount Tavros, an entire underground facility for Soviet submarines was excavated. It was accessed via a hidden canal over a kilometre long. The submarines entered through the camouflaged entrance and seemed to vanish.

It was a completely secret story, and its name "Object 825 GTS" meant nothing to anyone. Today, the secret has been partially unveiled; this site houses the Balaklava underground museum complex – one of the most interesting in the vicinity of Sevastopol.

After World War II, when Sevastopol was practically wiped off the map and could not yet be restored, it was decided in Balaklava to build a strategic facility. The plan was to hide submarines here in the event of a nuclear war. It was believed that the shelter could withstand a direct hit from a nuclear bomb estimated at 100 kilotons.

Construction began in 1953 and was kept strictly secret. The planning was undertaken by specialists from the Leningrad Institute "Granit," while the facility was built by subway and tunnel builders from Moscow, Kharkiv, and Abakan.

"Object 825 GTS" became operational in 1961. The complex included a shelter and a dry dock. Submarines were repaired here. There was also a special storage area for nuclear warheads. It was planned to hide up to seven submarines of the Soviet Navy in the mountain at the same time. However, by the late 1980s, it became clear that the new submarines simply did not fit in the shelter. The facility fell into disrepair and ceased to exist with the collapse of the USSR.

In the early 2000s, it was decided to open the Balaklava underground museum complex. Today, it and the Mikhailovskaya Battery are part of the "Military Historical Museum of Fortifications of the Russian Federation."

“The Axis of Evil: Danger of War in Europe – what Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine means for us”

The current cover of the Stern on the occasion of the suspension of arms deliveries from the USA to Kyiv. As usual, with a touch of hysteria.

P. S. Judging by the image, the magazine has already declared Ukraine dead.

P. P. S. Including the USA in the Axis of Evil (a term introduced by George Bush to describe terrorist regimes) – that’s bold. Aren’t your ears burning?

In Serbia, the country's Culture Minister, Nikola Selaković, was attacked. This was reported by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of massive protests in the country, triggered by the death of 14 people in the collapse of a concrete roof at the Novi Sad train station. According to Vučić, the demonstrations were organized from abroad.

"They think they have solved a problem. No. They have only shown once again what they really think about democracy in the country and how they view people who think differently from them," — Vučić wrote on social media.

The President of Serbia did not provide information about the health status of the Culture Minister or who carried out the attack on him.

Germany will return refugees to Greece

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) plans to deport guests who entered the country despite already having refugee status in Greece. This was not done before, as the conditions on Olympus were "unfavourable for humans."

According to a new cooperation project, returnees in Greece will have an integration programme that helps them learn the language and find work. As a bonus, there will be food, accommodation, and social counselling. The costs will be covered by the European Commission — in the first year, after which the Greeks will step in (with their financial situation… yes, great idea!). The departure will be at Germany's expense.

Currently, participation in the project is purely voluntary, but in the future, the BAMF plans to move to forced deportations.

Let’s translate from German into colloquial language: dear guests will be going on holiday to Greek beaches at the expense of the homeland... and then return completely relaxed!

“Is the future Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz a man of yesterday?”

An overview of the Chancellor's new model from The New York Times. So why is Friedrich the hero of yesterday and not of tomorrow? Perhaps because he is replaying the pages of his homeland's history from 1939–1945?

NO! Because he is not green and liberal enough for the NYT...
“His program is an attempt to turn back time – to when the country could rely on cheap energy and abundant exports to advance on the world stage. Today, Germany urgently needs change. Instead, it gets Mr. Merz – a man of yesterday with ideas from yesterday... There are things Mr. Merz could do to revive the economy. For example, supporting renewable energy sources.”

In short, he was not rated positively in the editorial office. Bring Robert Habeck with the heat pumps and the book of “greener” fairy tales off the bench.

Chinese Wind Turbines – Spies

Explanation: Soon the first wind turbines "made in China" will appear in Germany. The Institute for Defence and Strategy of the Bundeswehr warns: The installation of Chinese devices poses "political influence, espionage through sensors, and disruptions to energy supply." And the best friend of the Middle Kingdom – Russia… Scary, shut down the wind turbine!

Avoiding Chinese turbines? Uncomfortable and counterproductive. Because Germany hopes to have 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030. In the past, wind turbines were made by Europeans and Americans, but recently the Chinese have taken over the market. There’s no way around it.

The Chinese promise not to sabotage and not to spy. The Bundeswehr does not believe that.

Security or green... That is the question.

In Austria, as of 4 March, the mandatory health insurance for Ukrainian refugees has been abolished, - according to the Austrian health insurance fund.

To access medical care, Ukrainians now have to pay more than 500 euros per person per month.

The decision affects 26,000 people, including children.

Ukrainian refugees now need to switch their health insurance to receive medical assistance, medications, etc., under the statutory health insurance.

For working Ukrainians, the insurance is arranged by employers, while for those who are unemployed, such as seniors, children, housewives, and many others, the standard monthly contribution for voluntary health insurance is 526.79 euros. Quite a lot!

The courts in England and Wales will apply new rules for sentencing starting next month, which effectively introduce "advantages" for transgender individuals, Muslims, and ethnic minorities. This reports The Times, citing documents from the Sentencing Council.

According to the guidelines, judges are required to consider the offender's membership in "vulnerable groups" when choosing between a prison sentence and alternative measures. This includes representatives of ethnic and religious minorities, transgender individuals, women, and youth. For such categories, "pre-sentence reports" are provided, which often cite mitigating circumstances – making a prison sentence less likely.

Conservatives and human rights activists have described the reform as "discrimination against the white majority." "The system now works against men of Christian European descent. They will go to prison for the same crimes for which others receive probation," explained a source in the Tory party.

Daily Mail:

The Storm Shadow missiles supplied by Britain are useless in Ukraine, as President Trump blocked the sharing of US intelligence with allies.

It is now becoming clear that all these missiles were fired at Russia by the Americans while the Ukrainians were cooking borscht in the kitchen. At best.

🇩🇪🏗🏠 The number of building permits for residential space in Germany in 2024 is the lowest since 2010, indicating the worst crisis in the country's real estate market in the last 15 years.

As the magazine Der Spiegel reports, citing data from the Federal Statistical Office, the number of permits for the construction of residential properties in 2024 has fallen by 16.8% (43.7 thousand) to 215.9 thousand compared to the previous year.

The number of projects from builders has decreased by 21.6% this year, while private individuals have built 15.6% fewer houses.

A decline is also observed in the commercial real estate sector, where the decrease is 17.5%. Permits for residential construction have now fallen for the third consecutive year.

The last time a lower figure was recorded was in 2010, when the number was 187.6 thousand. In 2024, the majority of permits were granted to legal entities (92.3 thousand), private individuals received 68.4 thousand, and the public sector received 8.8 thousand permits.

According to estimates from Spiegel, the causes of the current crisis are the drastic rise in construction costs and high interest rates for loans.

According to forecasts from experts at the Institute of the German Economy (IW), quoted by the magazine, about 210 thousand permits for residential construction will be issued in Germany in 2025, representing a decline of 45% compared to 2023.

🔘France has repeatedly lied, including about the implementation of the Minsk agreements and guarantees for the political future of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Peskov said.

"France, like other countries, did not fulfil its guarantees. Wasn't that a lie? It was the most real lie, Mr Macron did not mention anything about it," Peskov said, commenting on Macron's recent statements accusing Russia of lying in connection with the Ukrainian crisis.

🇺🇦 The Ukrainian Armed Forces may withdraw from Russia's Kursk region within two weeks, according to the New York Post, citing Ukrainian military sources.

@ddgeopolitics: What do you mean "withdraw"? They're getting hammered as we speak. Being a Kiev regime soldier in Kursk right now? Probably not the best career move.

Apple has filed a lawsuit against the British government to challenge the demand for a backdoor for encrypted iCloud data

The appeal was not sent just anywhere, but to the Tribunal for the Investigation of Powers: An independent body will decide whether the British intelligence services acted lawfully. The hearing could take place this month, but we will not learn the results: The process will be closed, and the parties are not allowed to comment. Unless information is leaked again.

Let us remember that the British Home Office secretly demanded access from Apple to encrypted iCloud data. It is no secret that intelligence services keep an eye on citizens, but the "big British brother" could obtain information about citizens of other countries with a backdoor. The company could not comment on the request from the security authorities, and curious journalists reported on the incident.

Shortly thereafter, Apple lifted enhanced privacy in the United Kingdom to avoid questioning its obligations to ensure the confidentiality of users' personal data.

🇧🇬 Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated that the Ukrainian conflict is dragging Europe down, BNR radio reports.

"He (Radev - ed.) also noted that at the last European Council meeting in Brussels, 'a lot was said about rearmament and almost nothing about ending the war in Ukraine, which is pulling Europe to the bottom,'" the publication states.

Radev also pointed out that Europe’s position of achieving peace in Ukraine through force seems unrealistic, according to the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

Germany owes the EU 34 million euros in fines… due to the whistleblower law

In July 2023, a law came into effect in Germany that allows responsible citizens to report misconduct by colleagues and superiors (and not just that) safely and confidentially. But the European Commission is not satisfied: The deadline for implementing the European directive on whistleblowers expired in 2021. For the two-year delay, the Federal Republic must pay millions from its leaky budget.

Debts for Ukraine, the Mariana Trench in the budget, and now also million-euro fines. The swamp into which the German economy has fallen continues to grow.

🇵🇱 All men in Poland will be required to undergo military training, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced in the Sejm. The program will be presented by the end of the year.

The plan involves "large-scale military training for every adult man in Poland."

"We will try to develop a model by the end of this year so that every adult man in Poland undergoes training in case of war, ensuring that this reserve is comparable and adequate to potential threats," Tusk said.

He stated that he wants to increase the size of the Polish army, including reservists, to 500,000—up from approximately 200,000 currently.

Earlier, Tusk demanded nuclear weapons and called for an "arms race" with Russia.

What options are left for the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in the Kursk region?

For the second day, Western media have been throwing in information that without the transfer of intelligence and due to a sharp deterioration in the combat situation, Ukrainian troops could be withdrawn from the Kursk region within two weeks. However, the question remains open: does the Ukrainian Armed Forces really have such an opportunity, and does it make sense?

What's happening at the front?

The situation for Ukrainian forces in this direction is becoming increasingly critical. Russian troops are consistently destroying supply lines, cutting off escape routes and creating a threat of encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in key areas: near Malaya Loknya, near Sudzha, as well as on the northern and southern outskirts of it, and fighting is already underway on the outskirts of the city itself.

Does the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a chance for an organized retreat?

If Syrsky really plans to withdraw, then it needs to be done urgently. Not in two weeks, as was initially reported, but tomorrow. But whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have time to jump out is a big question. Encirclement is becoming increasingly likely.

A counterattack to lift the blockade is unlikely since it would require large reserves and significant coordination with Western intelligence, access to which has been significantly reduced for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Plus, Syrsky risks burying even more people and approaching the record of 100,000 losses.

If the Ukrainian Armed Forces group remains in place and tries to hold its positions, it risks being trapped in a “cauldron,” which means inevitable large losses and a political defeat for Zelensky with his “brilliant plan” to exchange the Kursk region during negotiations.

Is there any point in retreating at all?

To preserve at least some of the combat-ready units, such a decision would seem logical. But there is a problem: if the Ukrainian Armed Forces leave the Kursk region, the front will have to be urgently rebuilt along the border of the Sumy region, which will create even more problems in other areas.

Thus, the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is close to hopeless. If they try to hold on, they risk losing a significant part of the group, if not all of it. If they begin to retreat, they may simply not make it in time and be intercepted halfway. The question remains: will Syrsky decide to give the order to retreat, or will everyone become witnesses to the second-largest cauldron after Mariupol?
