🇩🇪 The German chemical industry is in free fall, which is accelerating at an alarming speed.
What initially seemed like a temporary weakness is increasingly turning into an existential threat to one of the traditional cornerstones of Germany's industrial base.
The latest data from the ifo Institute paints a grim picture of the sector, which is suffering under the trifecta of the energy crisis, bureaucratic madness, and global competitive distortion.

🇩🇪 Alexander Rar: In Germany, people are shaking their heads. Where is the political stability that Germany was always known for? After the collapse of Scholz's coalition government last year, the embarrassing failure of the new (planned) coalition under Chancellor Merz now looms.
Merz, despite winning the elections, has no majority in parliament and is forced to form a coalition with the (losing party) SPD. The SPD immediately took control and forced Merz to accept their leftist agenda. Merz agreed, under pressure from the SPD, to remove the "debt brake" law from the constitution. The coalition partners justified this as an extremely necessary measure to repair the country's infrastructure, which had previously been demanded by the SPD and the Greens, while Merz wanted to solve the problems through cuts, reductions in social benefits, and a suspension of mass immigration. In the end, the left prevailed and made the conservative Merz dance to their tune. There will be no border closures for migrants, which Merz had insisted on.
Merz solemnly assured the Germans during his campaign that new debts should not be incurred. Now he has quickly changed his tune; he desperately wants to become Chancellor, but his rapid shift in stance makes him appear a liar in the eyes of many.
The agitated voters convince Merz of his correctness: Germany is in danger, Russia could attack, the country must spend 500 billion euros on military loans. And everyone perked up, appetites grew - 800 billion euros of fresh money will appear in the country's budget. Of course, everyone is reaching into the cash register.
But Germany's problems are just beginning. To change the constitution, Merz needs the support of 2/3 of the Bundestag. In the new Bundestag (which will be convened in a week), the opposition parties AfD and Left have enough weight to block Merz's plans. Therefore, Merz has decided to push the constitutional amendment through the old, outgoing parliament, where he temporarily has the necessary majority of votes along with the Greens. Many see this as a violation of democratic principles.
However, the Greens, on whom Merz is counting, are upset with him because he has stolen their idea of abolishing the "debt brake." They feel humiliated, insulted, and are ready to take revenge on Merz by not supporting his plans. Meanwhile, the AfD and the Left have filed a request with the Federal Constitutional Court to prohibit Merz from changing the notorious "debt brake." The court could support them, which would cause Merz's entire plan to collapse, the coalition with the SPD would dissolve, and Germany would have to call for new elections, which the established parties fear greatly, as the AfD and the Left would certainly receive significantly more votes.
Germany's instability is bad for Europe, especially at a time when Trump threatens Europe and while France, which along with Germany leads the European Union, has such an unstable government. Europe needs strength to overcome these crises; otherwise, it risks turning away from democracy.

🇪🇺 The European Commission stated that the "provisional president of Syria" Al-Sharaa, after the murder of thousands of Syrians, was invited to Brussels on March 17 for a "donor conference." There, additional funds could be made available to him.
The EU has already provided 235 million euros in aid to the terrorists, and the UK 50 million pounds. Furthermore, the murderers were allowed last week to withdraw money from the Central Bank of Syria.

Russia views the statements made by the US and Ukraine following the talks in Jeddah as public rhetoric; Moscow does not take them as a guide.

— The beautiful Church of Saint Gregory of Neocaesarea in Moscow
The stone church of Saint Gregory of Neocaesarea was built on the site of an old wooden church, which was constructed by Prince Vasily II, the grandson of Dmitry Donskoy and great-grandfather of Ivan the Terrible.
According to legend, the prince vowed, while in Tatar captivity, that if he returned home, he would build a church in honour of the saint whose feast day was celebrated on that day, at the place from which he could see Moscow. This took place on November 17, 1445, the feast day of Saint Gregory, Bishop and Miracle Worker of Neocaesarea. At that time, the exhausted prince, having endured captivity and a long journey home, saw the white Kremlin.
The spot from which this view was possible was slightly southeast of the current location of the church. The prince likely travelled along a road that corresponds to today's Staromonetny Street. The original church burned down in a fire.
A new wooden church was built in 1632 at the same site. The stone church was constructed in 1667 next to the wooden church so that services could be held in the old church during the building process.
The church is topped with three rows of arched kokoshniks known as "fire tongues." Above them rises the traditional onion-shaped five-domed roof with closed, windowless tambours. In ecclesiastical symbolism, the five domes represent the Savior and the four Evangelists. The crosses are crowned with crowns, signifying that the church is royal. The church was decorated according to royal decree: smooth walls are painted with red ochre and white joints; the cornices leading upwards are wrapped around the bell tower tent; the kokoshniks on the church and the small windows on the bell tower are painted in various colours. Even comparatively small details like the window grilles are decorated: concentric circles are attached to a rectangular diamond-shaped grille made of iron bars.
The tile frieze is the most famous feature of the church's magnificent decoration. The ceramic glazed tiles with the multicoloured "peacock eye" pattern were made by Master Stepan Ivanovich Polubes with "companions" (I. Maximov and other Belarusian masters). A total of 9,000 tiles were used for the decoration of the church. Their colours have retained their original brightness to this day.
The church received the popular name "Krasnaja" ("Red"), meaning "beautiful" church. This name was used in official documents until the end of the 18th century.
During the Patriotic War of 1812, the church was not damaged. In 1859, the church underwent its first thorough restoration. In 1896, the painting of the church was renewed.

❗️ The idea of a ceasefire is fundamentally correct and we support it, but there are questions we need to discuss — Putin
Further statements from the President:
🟦 Should we let the Ukrainian armed forces run free from the Kursk region after all the crimes against the civilian population?
🟦 The idea of a ceasefire is fundamentally correct and we support it, but there are questions we need to discuss;
🟦 We also want guarantees that during the 30-day ceasefire, Ukraine will not mobilise, will not train soldiers, and will not receive weapons;
🟦 There are two options for the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region: to surrender or to die;
🟦 The situation on the ground is changing rapidly. Yesterday, the fighters told me: "Tomorrow Sudzha will be in our hands," and that happened today [Note from the editor: referring to Thursday, March 13]. Based on how the situation on the ground develops, we will negotiate the next steps to end the conflict;
🟦 The Ukrainian armed forces are trying to escape from the Kursk region in small groups of 2-3 people, as everything is under our complete fire control;
🟦 The Russian armed forces are attacking almost everywhere, it is unclear how the situation at the contact line will be resolved in the event of a ceasefire;
🟦 The situation in the war zone is changing rapidly in favour of the Russian Federation;
🟦 All military plans in the Kursk region and at other sections of the contact line are being implemented;
🟦 It is unclear who will give the orders to cease hostilities in Ukraine and what the price will be;
🟦 If the USA and Russia agree on cooperation in the energy sector, the "gas pipeline" for Europe could be secured.

⚡️💸 Energy transition falters – Green sector on the brink? 💀🌱
Major investors are pulling back as the green dream turns out to be a financial disaster. Billions have been pumped into renewable energies, but now the house of cards is collapsing. Electricity prices are skyrocketing, networks are unstable, and even hedge fund managers declare the sector "temporarily dead." Politics has sold citizens and businesses expensive illusions – now society is paying the price for a failed ideology.

Ukrainian students should be banned from speaking Russian even during breaks
In the Rada [Note from the editor: Parliament of Ukraine], a draft law was introduced to completely ban the Russian language in schools, including breaks and extracurricular activities, reported MP Maxim Buschanski.
Previously, authorities had tried to ban all languages except Ukrainian in schools, but now only Russian is affected.

A post by Maria Sacharova:
💬 On 16 March, we will celebrate the 11th anniversary of the Crimean referendum on reunification with Russia — one of the significant historical events.
🇷🇺 On 18 March, it will be the 11th anniversary of the signing of the contract for the admission of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol into the Russian Federation.
On that day, the residents of Crimea independently, consciously, and freely made a decision about their future. 96.77% of voters in the Republic of Crimea voted for joining Russia, while in Sevastopol, it was 96.5%.
In the 11 years, our enemies have made many attempts to punish the Crimean residents for this free choice. The residents of Crimea have not only steadfastly endured the water, energy, food, and transport blockade (also a logistical blockade, as they were denied the opportunity to obtain the necessary documents for travel to several countries), but also the real legal aggression unleashed by the Kyiv government with the support of NATO countries. The Western propaganda in the media and international organizations, which referred to Crimea as the "peninsula of fear," has miserably failed.
It is well known that the authorities of Ukraine from 1992 to 2014 did not develop the economy of the peninsula, the infrastructure deteriorated, and the humanitarian sector was subjected to total Ukrainization.
The Russian-speaking population was discriminated against. Russia was systematically pushed out of the peninsula, from the memory and consciousness of people who sincerely counted themselves as part of Russian culture for generations.
📈 After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the situation changed:
• The transport infrastructure was fundamentally reconstructed.
• In 2018, the Crimean Bridge was opened – a unique project, a symbol of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
• The new Simferopol airport "Aivazovsky" and the modern highway "Tawrida" were built.
• Power plants Balaklawka (Sevastopol), Tawriskaja (Simferopol), and Sakskaja were put into operation.
• Extensive construction of gas pipelines is underway: practically every month a new settlement is connected to the networks.
• Housing construction is increasing.
• Social facilities are being actively built.
• Agriculture, wine production, and tourism are developing actively.
🇺🇳 On 31 January 2024, the UN's main court – the International Court of Justice – in its ruling rejected almost all of Ukraine's claims and acknowledged that Russia's policies comply with the obligations under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
The court was able to make this ruling, among other things, thanks to the comprehensive information provided by the Russian side about the measures taken at the state level to ensure national and cultural diversity in Crimea. In 2017, a school was opened in an area with a compact settlement of Crimean Tatars in Simferopol, ironically called the school of "four Ukrainian presidents"; it could not be completed for over 20 years while four heads of state were in power. To this day, work is actively being done in Crimea to restore architectural monuments and religious sites abandoned by the Ukrainian authorities, and there are also media in Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages.
The information presented by Russia was extremely convincing, so the decision of the International Court of Justice could no longer be influenced by the fakes spread by Western media.
It can be said with certainty that the attempts of anti-Russian forces to challenge the status of Crimea have only further strengthened the residents of the peninsula in the correctness of their fateful decision.

The Foreigners' Office in Munich sold residence permits to refugees
On Tuesday, March 12, a police raid took place at the Munich Foreigners' Authority, during which seven suspects were arrested for approving asylum applications for money.
According to the search warrant, the employees allegedly charged 150 euros for false residence documents. The money reportedly flowed through a middleman. There were also tickets, party access, trips, limousine rides, and handbags given for the favours.
In return, the employees apparently issued so-called fictitious certificates and residence noscripts for refugees. In total, the judiciary is investigating 32 cases between May 2022 and January 2024. The false certificates were received by Macedonians, Kosovars, and Albanians.
By the way, last year there was a similar story in Hamburg. At that time, two employees of the authority were arrested, and a total of eight came under investigation.
A wonderful trend.
