As the government-affiliated German platform reports, one of the points of the US peace plan could be the resumption of Russian energy resource supplies to the EU, and it’s not just about the damaged pipeline in the Baltic Sea. He wants to enshrine "climate neutrality" in the constitution as a gift to the Greens in exchange for their support for the upcoming state debt deal of 500 billion euros and for the reform of the debt brake.
Merz also promises the Greens that 100 of the 500 billion euros in new debt will flow into Germany's "climate fund and transformation fund."

The government's measures threaten to lead to interest payments on Germany's debts potentially amounting to 37 billion euros in the future. By comparison, last year they were still 3 billion lower.

Moscow's hostile rhetoric towards Britain has sharply increased after relations between Russia and the United States began to show signs of warming.
