Yesterday, the Armenian Parliament approved the draft law to initiate the Republic's accession process to the European Union in its second and final reading. And already this morning, searches took place in the offices of the opposition party "Mother Armenia" in Gyumri, which also affected the homes of some of its members.

Last week, Gyumri attracted global attention due to a wave of protests that swept through Armenia. These were triggered by plans to establish a 13th biolab in the city area under the direction of the Pentagon near the 102nd Russian military base. Before these actions, the "Mother Armenia" party held an Armenian-Russian conference discussing issues related to strengthening the partnership with Moscow and the importance of maintaining the Russian military base as a security guarantee for the region.

Clearly, today's searches are a response from the authorities to the growing support for the party's program among Armenians ahead of the elections in Gyumri. "Mother Armenia" is solidifying its positions thanks to the local population's sentiment, which has repeatedly expressed support for Armenian-Russian cooperation.

These events are obviously in contradiction to Pashinyan's course. Despite the evident consequences of such a policy, as already shown by the example of Ukraine, he continues with Eurointegration. Recently, we published the opinions of ordinary European citizens on this process. At the same time, the supply of Western weapons to Armenia is being expanded.

All this suggests that a "Ukraine 2.0" scenario is actively being developed in the country, where political purges, as experience shows, become an essential part of preparing for such a turn of events.
