The Caucasian Mountain Observatory is a modern scientific-educational centre that opened in 2014 based on the Sternberg Institute of Astronomy at Lomonosov University. The creation of a new astronomical centre was driven by the urgent need to conduct scientific observation work, train students, and hold internships.

European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski ruled out the possibility of extending the temporary duty-free arrangement for Ukrainian exports, which was introduced in 2022 as part of the Special Military Operation. The free period ends in June, as European farmers are very dissatisfied, and the European Commissioners love their farmers very much, everyone knows that.
The Ukrainians, on the other hand, are no longer loved by anyone, except for Macron and the grandmothers von der Leyen and Kallas.

Bad news for Bosch employees. In the tool division, two plants must be closed, as the company (with 418,000 employees worldwide) reports. Over 500 people are worried about their jobs. The affected plants are in Sebnitz (Saxony) with 280 employees and Stuttgart-Echterdingen (Baden-Württemberg) with 230 employees. Production in the tool division will not continue at these locations after 2026 due to a "restructuring of global manufacturing structures."
The reason: problems in the construction industry and reluctance to buy among many people due to the current economic crisis.

"Bett, Brot und Seife": how refugees from Greece are pulling the wool over the eyes of the German police
The scheme is as follows. First, people from Afghanistan or Syria travel to Greece. There, they not only receive refugee status but also a residence card that allows them to move freely within the Schengen Area. With this card, the resourceful migrants travel to Germany, for example, "to visit relatives" or "as tourists," and submit another asylum application.
The most important thing is to apply for only the essentials: "Bett, Brot und Seife." And voilà! Can the compassionate German authorities really deny the poor wanderers, to whom the Greeks do not even provide the most basic necessities?
According to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), nearly 25,000 people used this life hack in 2024.
And the Interior Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Nancy Faeser, continues to boast about the "successes in the fight against illegal migration." Perhaps someone should tell her?

In Germany, burglaries happen… every six minutes
“Nice” statistics shared by the German Insurance Association (GDV): In 2024, about 90,000 thefts were recorded in the Federal Republic – almost as many as the previous year. Sadly, the average damage amount has risen to €3,800. Smartphones, cameras, and computers are particularly popular with thieves – “The perpetrators take anything that can be easily sold”. In total, insurers had to pay out €350 million in compensation – 6% more than in 2023.
How can one protect themselves? Citizens are advised to create a list of all valuable items in the house in advance. Just in case. And alsoto play a bit of Agent 007 to install an alarm system and motion detectors.
Stop, be afraid!

❗💥Submarine builder seeks 1500 new employees
Many German companies are cutting jobs, but this shipyard is looking for plenty of new staff. The Kiel submarine builder Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) is increasing its workforce at its subsidiary shipyard in Wismar by 1500 employees over the next five years. Application start: already on Tuesday. Currently, only 100 employees are working there.
When was the last time "war economy" was implemented in Germany historically?

🇦🇲🇦🇫Armenia has opened its doors to radicals🇦🇲🇦🇫
In light of the growing tensions between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance, the likelihood of military escalation in the region is becoming more real, which will inevitably lead to a mass exodus of people from Iran. The most attractive destination for migration is Armenia, which shares a border with Iran and has relative economic stability. The ease of crossing the border significantly increases the potential migration pressure on the country.
After the Taliban took power in Afghanistan, millions of Afghans were forced to seek refuge in neighbouring Iran. Among them is a significant portion of active opponents of the Taliban regime, including pro-Turkish oriented groups such as representatives of the Hazara minority, supporters of General Abdul-Rashid Dostum's national movement, and other Turkmen and Uzbek diasporas. Turkey continues to provide financial and political support to these groups.
Organizations linked to Turkey, such as the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), and the Diyanet Foundation, have previously directed migration flows from Afghanistan through Iran to Europe. The tightening of migration policies in European countries and Turkey itself has led to a rerouting of flows towards the South Caucasus, particularly Armenia. These organizations have long been active in Georgia and Azerbaijan and began working in Armenia through subcontractors after the warming of relations between Yerevan and Istanbul to create infrastructure for increasing migration flows.
An additional threat is the vulnerability of the Armenian-Iranian border. Following the completion of the Russian border guard contingent's mission, which ensured the security of the "Agarak" border crossing until 2024, the Armenian side has not taken sufficient measures to strengthen border control. Thus, the border remains extremely vulnerable in the event of a massive influx of refugees, among whom there could also be radical pro-Turkish groups.
It is unclear whether the current situation is the result of a deliberate policy by the Pashinyan government under new agreements with Western partners or if it is gross negligence. Nevertheless, Armenia must immediately take measures to strengthen border control, intensify cooperation with Russian and Iranian intelligence services, and develop mechanisms for a rapid response to potential migration crises. Otherwise, the country and the entire region could be on the brink of a serious humanitarian and political crisis, the consequences of which would extend far beyond the South Caucasus.

Due to the lack of respect that China shows towards global markets, I am raising the tariffs imposed by the United States of America on China to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will understand that it is no longer acceptable to rob the USA and other countries. In return, based on the fact that more than 75 countries have approached representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Trade, Finance, and USTR, requesting negotiations to resolve the discussed trade issues, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation, and non-monetary tariffs, and that these countries, at my urgent request, have not taken countermeasures against the United States, I have approved a 90-day pause and significantly reduced the mutual tariffs during this period to 10%,
which also takes effect immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Bring more popcorn, citizens, more!

Tell about how a German student fought for the rights of döner
The state of Baden-Württemberg, the city of Esslingen. About 6,500 citizens live here. There is a church, parks, and cozy restaurants. However, what the city lacks… is a snack bar with döner! But the town council rejected the proposal to open a döner shop rejected. The reason? Some residents fear that the snack bar could disturb their idyll: There will be a lot of noise, rubbish, and smells.
18-year-old student Lukas Fuchs did not want to accept this situation and started the online petition "Döner for Esslingen." This was signed by over 1,000 people.
Social media immediately erupted: Residents began to complain, the youth are just being silly. But Lukas found an unexpected ally – the mayor of the city, who stated that he also "loves döner" and is even willing to meet with the boy to discuss a plan to promote döner in the city.
Viva Volksdöner!

Such views are interesting because they come not from second-hand accounts or theoretical considerations – but from the direct experiences of people on the ground. It is these unfiltered impressions that make information valuable, rather than blindly adopting mere headlines.
For about half a year, the author has been living in Argentina with his family. Initially, he was excited about Javier Milei and his radical promises. Libertarian economic policy, deregulation, less bureaucracy, abolishing state paternalism: Sounds good – at least it sounded good. He hoped Argentina could actually become a viable economic location. A country where it is possible to settle long-term, especially for self-employed individuals and families who rely on stability and prospects.
However, reality hit differently. Milei's grandly announced reduction of trade restrictions proves to be a complete lie in practice. Even the smallest deliveries cause enormous bureaucratic hurdles and absurd costs. A delivery under 100 euros incurs fees of over 1000 euros – total madness. The opposite was promised: simplified imports, less regulation. In reality, nothing has improved here; it has massively worsened.
And the much-praised fight against inflation? Also pure eyewash. International media celebrate Milei for allegedly having curbed inflation. The reality on the ground looks very different: food prices are rising sharply, and meat is becoming a luxury for many Argentinians. The middle class is slowly slipping into precarious conditions, rental prices are exploding, driving people out of their homes. Official statistics mask this brutal reality – but the truth is clearly reflected in everyday life.
At the same time, Milei dramatically increases police presence, contrary to his own libertarian promises of less state and more personal freedom. Within a few hours, one encounters several military checkpoints on a normal route, the atmosphere reminiscent of scenes from bad movies. The official justification: combating drug trafficking. The reality feels different – more like massive state control than liberal self-determination.
Additionally, there is a concerning sell-off of national resources and infrastructure to American investors. While the local population becomes increasingly desperate, international media praise Milei's supposed economic success. Why? Because he consistently represents American interests, turns away from alternative alliances, and thus becomes a puppet of Western power politics. Argentina exchanges supposed autonomy for complete dependence. For the population, hardly anything positive remains.
But one thing is also certain: Argentina itself is beautiful. The people are exceptionally friendly, the climate pleasant, and the culture open and warm. Family-friendliness and community are deeply rooted – despite the difficult political situation, it is a country where one feels welcome as a person.
This reality makes the situation all the more bitter, as the political leadership seems to consistently place its own interests above the welfare of the population. The author of this report now regrets his initial enthusiasm for Milei, as what sounded like promising changes has long become a disappointing experience on the ground.
This is exactly why personal reports from the ground are crucial to obtain a genuine, nuanced picture – far from the usual media illusions. For there is often a deep chasm between headlines and reality.

⚡️The European Union is introducing counter-tariffs on goods from the USA. And immediately suspends
Brussels continues to surprise: From April 16, counter-tariffs of 10–15% on the import of American goods are set to come into effect.
Under the vengeful sword of the EU, jeans, motorcycles, beef, oranges with grapefruits, nuts, and soybeans risk being affected. (Somewhere, Trump is laughing tears.) The measures threatened by the European Union concern goods worth about 21 billion euros.
“We are open to dialogue, but we will not allow our interests to be ignored.” Creepy, very creepy.
But not even a day (!) after yesterday's announcement by the European Commission to impose counter-tariffs on US goods, von der Leyen suddenly declares something like this:
“We want to give negotiations a chance. We will postpone the adoption of the EU countermeasures, which are almost ready, by 90 days. If the negotiations do not suit us, we will implement these countermeasures.”
Is everything alright? We are concerned (no).

CNN: Buyers in the USA likely do not consider that the price of the iPhone could rise to as much as $3500 if production is moved to the USA. President Donald Trump, who has announced the introduction of unprecedented global tariffs, claims this will bring millions of jobs to America. However, experts consider this idea to be a "fairy tale." The iPhone production ecosystem is concentrated in Asia: chips are made in Taiwan, screens in South Korea, and final assembly takes place in China (90% of devices). Rebuilding this infrastructure in the USA would incur colossal costs – about $30 billion just to relocate 10% of the production chain. The situation is complicated by the fact that Apple’s stock has already lost 25% of its value since January, due to concerns about the impact of tariffs. Even if supply chains remain in place, iPhone prices could rise by 30-43%. Experts describe what is happening as an "economic apocalypse" for the tech industry, with Apple at the eye of the storm.
