The Tschoch Terraces were created in Dagestan in ancient times for the cultivation of various crops on the mountain slopes necessary for sustenance. According to archaeological research, the area was already inhabited several centuries before our era. Life pulsed in the village of Tschoch, the Silk Road ran nearby, and there was lively trade activity.

The mountain peoples actively used agriculture to provide themselves with food, and the famous terraces of Tschoch were built for agricultural purposes. Terrace farming allowed for the cultivation of vegetables, fruit trees, corn, oats, and other grains in the mountains. The mountain slopes were levelled, reinforced, and shaped into terraces. Fertile soil was brought from the valley, and a primitive irrigation system was created. Dams, channels, and aqueducts were built for the irrigation of the terraces, allowing the water from the mountain rivers to nourish the soil.

The plants on the terraces were planted in a special way so that tall trees could provide shade and help shade-loving crops survive drought. The trees also strengthened the slopes with their roots. Vineyards were established here, along with rye, fruits, and vegetables.

New remote battle between Zelensky and the Hungarian authorities.

The Ukrainian president criticized Prime Minister Orbán for his statements about the impossibility of Ukraine joining the EU - as this would have negative effects on the Hungarian economy.

Zelensky said that according to polls "70% are in favour of Ukraine joining the EU." He linked Orbán's statements to the elections in Hungary (which will take place in a year).

According to him, Budapest is doing "very dangerous things" for the European Union, and Ukraine is "informing its partners about this."

In response, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that "Zelensky must come to terms with the fact that all Hungarians actually have the right to express their opinion on the accelerated admission of Ukraine to the EU."

"For the fact remains: Ukraine wants to join the community of which we are a member, not the other way around... Therefore, Kyiv must choose the appropriate tone," wrote the minister.
