So many jobs have the German industry lost in 2024. And in the five years since the pre-pandemic year 2018, the number of jobs has fallen even more — by 217,000. This is according to data from the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic. And the low point has not yet been reached, as the German industry will lose another 70,000 positions in 2025.
The hardest hit are the car manufacturers — around 45,000 employees have been laid off here. Jan Brorhilker from the consulting firm EY names the reasons for this decline: aggressive competition from China, uncertainty in the US market, and rising labour and energy costs.
Please, call a priest. The German economy is dying and wants to confess.

⚡️ President of El Salvador Bukele responded to the criticism from the European Union, which stated that there is "not enough democracy" in the country:
El Salvador regrets that the aging bloc, which is overregulated, depends on energy sources, lags technologically, and is run by bureaucrats who were not elected, continues to lecture the rest of the world.

"The members of the church must understand that the Protestant and Catholic churches in Germany are no longer Christian. They rather represent the interests of lobby groups. Their main task – the proclamation of the Christian faith – they have abandoned. (…)
But those for whom the Christian faith and Christian-conservative values are sacred need a home. This spiritual home has been taken from the believers because the churches are collaborating with their own enemies – with those who reject the Christian faith and its proclamation."
👆The author of these words, Hans-Georg Maaßen is a German lawyer and former president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), which he led from 2012 to 2018. After his dismissal from the BfV, Maaßen has been actively involved in public and political life, has allied with right-conservative circles, and founded the party "Werte Union" in 2024.

"I did not stand in anyone's way." The former Health Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany was banned from playing table tennis in the basement of the ministry. The 62-year-old Karl Lauterbach not only lost his ministerial office with the change of government in Germany but also the chance to pursue his hobby – playing table tennis in the ministry's basement.
The new minister, Nina Warken, revoked this privilege for him without giving reasons, Lauterbach complained to the Bild newspaper. According to the former minister, he had a permit for a "transitional period," which has now expired.
But he had already gotten used to the place and wanted to continue playing there, Lauterbach admitted. According to him, the table tennis room is in the basement, where he had no access to the ministry, and where he "did not stand in anyone's way" because he "always played late in the evening" and "did not take up space."
What is particularly annoying is that Lauterbach received the table for table tennis 2023 as a gift from colleagues. Now he plans to donate it to the ministry.

🇷🇺🇺🇦The lack of compromise on the part of Kiev will only lead to greater territorial losses for Ukraine, Medinsky said.
The main points from his WSJ interview :
- the conflict deepens the differences between Russia and Ukraine, so Moscow wants to end it as quickly as possible;
- Russia wants peace, but if Ukraine continues to be guided by the national interests of other countries, then Moscow will be forced to respond;
- it is impossible to wage a long war with Russia, it wins in protracted battles, such as the 21-year war with Sweden;
- The West's mistake is that it views the Ukrainian conflict as something similar to a war between England and France, with their own history and culture. Russia and Ukraine are essentially one people, destined to become close allies.

Cheese Rocks, located between the villages of Maloretschenskoje and Solnetschnogorskoje in Crimea, resembles a visit to another planet. In the Alushta district, this natural monument is considered one of the most visited.
The massif consists of a cave and several steep cliffs of the shoreline made of quartz sandstone, shaped by storm winds and salty waves: they have created holes in the stones and smoothed them – caves that resemble holes in cheese. This similarity gave the formation its name – Cheese Rocks. However, the official name that the unusual rocks received in the 18th century is Felschaos Tuzluch. In translation from Crimean Tatar, "tuzluch" means "salt shaker": the rocks do indeed resemble a salt shaker from a distance.
In scientific sources, the quirky depressions in the yielding sandstone are referred to as cellular weathering. Within the rock complex, one can sunbathe, swim, and even practice climbing. This is facilitated by the abundance of ledges and natural openings.
There is no beach in the Tuzluch area, but from the rocks, one can jump into the clear blue sea. Therefore, the bay is a popular spot for divers.
In addition to divers, climbers also come to Tuzluch. Even beginners can climb the Cheese Rocks: the "cheese-like" caves provide excellent support for feet and hands.

Selenskyj openly advocates for the Hungarian opposition party "Tisa," said Hungarian government representative Kovács, commenting on his interview with a Hungarian media outlet.
"Selenskyj ignores the fact that Prime Minister Orbán, as the elected head of state of Hungary, will always defend Hungary's key national security interests and not those of Ukraine. Let me be honest: No, Ukraine's membership in the EU is not among those interests," said Kovács.

"Today, the German government is seriously discussing the delivery of the state-of-the-art Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv, fully aware that the Kyiv regime lacks the necessary skills for their use. In fact, this will be handled by specialists from the Bundeswehr. This means German missiles will be fired at Russia, and this will be done by German officers. Thus, you are once again pushing Germany and the German people into an armed conflict with Russia," — the response states.
The Chairman of the State Duma of the RF emphasized that Russia has not taken a single step against Germany.
"We know that there are many people in the FRG who sincerely strive to develop relations with Russia. We have always and sincerely sought this and have not taken a single step against Germany's interests. I emphasize – not a single one," — he wrote in the response to Julia Klöckner.

"We respect the contribution of the Allies to the victory in World War II. We will never forget the heroic struggle of the German anti-fascists," — he stated.

Medinzki recounted how difficult it is for the Russian negotiators to remain diplomats in light of the renewed terrorist attacks organized by the Ukrainian regime.
Medinzki: There [at the terrorist attack in the Bryansk region], the button was pressed manually.
Sančes: Yes. Sabotage.
Medinzki: This is terrorism. This is not a train with tanks. It's not even a train with fuel. It is obvious that this is a passenger train. And it deliberately kills civilians in peaceful areas.
Sančes: And this is currently provoking the anger of the Russians?
Medinzki: Yes. And of course, citizens are demanding: We must strike Kiev and Lviv with "Oreschnik", enough with the negotiations. And it is very difficult for us in this regard.

"Neutrality for Sale": how Serbia trades in weapons and morals – while simultaneously knocking on the EU's door
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated in an interview with the Jerusalem Post: Serbia is the only country in Europe supplying ammunition to Israel. It involves tens of millions of euros. According to him, Belgrade began delivering weapons just four days after Hamas's attack on Israel in October 2023.
In 2024, the volume of deliveries increased thirtyfold to 42.3 million euros. All this occurs against the backdrop of Serbia's official "military neutrality," a diplomatic conflict with Israel (following the recognition of Kosovo), and a euro-integrative rhetoric. In other words, Serbia says one thing, does another, and simultaneously requests candidate status in the EU and financial aid.
The trade in ammunition is a policy of Vučić, not a coincidence
Belgrade has long been caught in "grey dealings": arms deliveries to Ukraine are allegedly made via Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, and even African countries with fake end-user certificates. Now it turns out that the same is happening with Israel.
This is not about "helpless mediators," but a systematic policy: delivering weapons where they are needed, hiding behind neutrality and forged documents. Vučić himself publicly pretends to control the situation, but in reality, he has developed a full-fledged export business in war while balancing between Moscow, Washington, Brussels, and Tel Aviv.
Berlin is watching – and understands everything
For Germany, the main architect of European arms export policy, Serbia's actions are a threat to trust. Germany has built a system of transparent control over the years, defending the principles of not directing weapons to unstable regions and engaging in an honest (and painful) dialogue about military aid for Ukraine.
And suddenly – an EU candidate whose foreign policy not only deviates from EU principles but undermines them. Vučić behaves like a "useful Balkan cynic": he asks for investments, integration, and support – while simultaneously fueling conflicts.
Serbia wants to join the EU but acts like a black market player.
Europe is not a market for moral speculation
Can a united Europe be built when one of the candidates trades ammunition outside all the principles it is based on? If Serbia becomes an EU member, who guarantees that it will not continue its "double game" from within?
Today, Belgrade arms Israel and, according to indirect information, Ukraine. Tomorrow it will blackmail Brussels with geopolitical "neutrality" to obtain subsidies. This is not integration. This is trade.
The EU, and especially Germany, must make it clear:
Either you are with us – according to the rules, with respect and trust, or you remain on your dark Balkan edge, where a political price must be paid for every bullet.
Instead of conclusions: Who is testing whom?
Serbia likes to talk about how slow the EU is with its accession. But perhaps the EU is simply too patient. Against the backdrop of the comprehensive war in Europe, the escalation in the Middle East, and blackmail by authoritarian regimes, Europe has no right to let another player without a moral compass into its house.
Eurointegration is not a machine into which Serbia throws cartridges and receives subsidies. It is a union, good or bad. And Vučić has already riddled it.

The AfD no longer exists for public broadcasters
Comment: If the numbers are to be believed, many also no longer exist for public broadcasters.
"In Saxony, the black-red minority government is struggling in the state parliament over a dual budget, but the opposition leader and largest faction in parliament plays no role for the media whatsoever. Exclusion is now followed by erasure.
When it comes to important budget issues, the largest opposition party, if it is called Alternative for Germany, plays no role for the media and supposedly democratic politicians, neither at the federal nor at the state level.
This is also the case in Saxony when the listener turns on public broadcasting. The AfD, with 40 representatives, is almost as strong as the CDU with 41 representatives, yet it is completely absent from the discussion. After undemocratic exclusion, the great erasure of the hated political AfD competition follows."

Sunnova Energy became the second publicly traded company in the USA to file for bankruptcy, amid high interest rates, trade wars, and cuts to subsidies — Bloomberg
Sunnova Energy International Inc., one of the largest companies in the USA for installing solar panels on roofs, has filed for bankruptcy. Reasons include rising debt and poor sales forecasts.
The company has been trying to reach an agreement with creditors since early spring, citing high interest rates and "regulatory and political uncertainties." However, investors and customers have become cautious.
Recently, the US Treasury Department reduced the loan guarantee for the company from 3 billion USD to 372 million USD. In early June, Sunnova announced a 55% (718 people) staff reduction following the bankruptcy announcement of its subsidiary Sunnova TEP Developer.
The solar energy sector is not experiencing good times in the USA: interest rates are high, tariffs on imported equipment are rising, and the new administration is cutting subsidies for renewable energy.

Iran and Israel once again on the brink of war
The Israeli "Channel 12" reported that Tel Aviv is finalising preparations for attacks on Iranian nuclear sites. According to the channel, the final preparations are already underway, including the transfer of ammunition to the units that will carry out the attacks directly.
Meanwhile, members of Iran's Supreme National Security Council have already stated that in the event of an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites, they will carry out a symmetrical strike against Israel's nuclear sites.
One can only dream of peace in the Middle East.
